Make a relation that never ends

Make a relation that never ends

Remember that the relationships are not always about showing love to your partner. It is sometimes about showing your concern for him/her when he/she needs you the most. It is about being the best friend that he/she needs at that point of time. What people constantly do wrong in relationships? They keep expectations from their partner and when he/she doesn’t live up to that, they are disappointed and sad. That is the beginning of the end of a relationship.

However, your relationship sometimes needs good listening skills from your side. No opinions, no judgements, nothing. Just pure listening. Whenever your partner is done with ranting out, he/she will be good to go. But it is that patience, of listening to him/her nicely, which will win his/her heart for you. Be a go-to person as you should be the go-to person for him/her in all the situations.

If you cannot resolve the problem, you must at least create that kind of an atmosphere where he/she feels safe. Sometimes, the problem is not so big, but the way we look at it, is incorrect. Sitting on the terrace of your home, hostel or at a cosy place, you can calm him/her down and find out some amicable solution for the problem. In 99% cases, it works unless the problem is too big to be handled by you.

Keep privacy by respecting each other’s privacy. Giving your passwords to your partner does not make you a loyal boyfriend/girlfriend, rather that makes your partner a skeptical one. I firmly believe that loyalty is the most important part in relationships, but you need to give the other person some personal space. If you become over-possessive, it leads to other bazillion problems.

Show care and assurance in all relationships are meant to be handled with care. So do not get into one, unless you are 100% sure about that person as well as you. Because, there is no Ctrl+Z in reality. Small and petty quarrels are normal but if you get into huge fights every now and then, it is time that you assess your relationship.

Loving someone and receiving the same amount of love in return is a luxury that not all the people have. Therefore, be a good friend to your partner, and love him/her as much as you can because you will come to know the real value of him/her, not when he/she is around, rather when he/she is not. The key to a long lasting relationship is being able to be completely happy, joyful and pleasured on your own.

Let me explain it in detail. Many of us enter the relationship assuming the other person must give them something. They must be attractive enough, so they can feel excited with them. They must be active at sex, so they can be pleasured with them. They must be goofy so they can be themselves with them. They must always remain compatible, so they can feel happy. They must remain loyal, then only they can feel worthy. Etc.

And the problem with this is, this is not love. This is a job description. A job description for the one to make you feel all the good things in life all the time. To make you feel pleasured, excited, happy, worthy, comfortable, light etc. However, this “job” will always fail. Because that's the reality of the world. Nothing outside of you can give you the long lasting feelings your searching for inside of you. The cause of your happiness or unhappiness, excitement or boredom, worthiness or unworthiness is your mind.

And even if you think another person is making you happy, really really look closely at that. Because what's happening is your in a moment of pleasure. Sometimes it's multiple moments, sometimes it's a few moments. These same moments occur when you eat your favorite food, or travel to your favorite place. Yes there is a compatibility between you and the food, the place and the person but at it's best you can only receive that pleasure a certain number of times.
