Miami vs. Philly — #PerceptionIsReality
On Sunday, the Miami Dolphins upset the Philadelphia Eagles.
In a pivotal moment towards the end of the first half, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick lined up his troops for a field goal attempt. Instead, he lobbed the ball to kicker Jason Sanders who was hanging out in the end zone.
In the move referred to as the “Mountaineer Shot” the Dolphins ultimately took the lead with Sanders becoming the first kicker to score a touchdown since 1977.
Let’s unpack what happened.
The Miami Dolphins are faced with a losing season, having won a measly 3 out of 9 games. This one was trending in that direction as well, as they were already down by 6.
Simply put: They had nothing to lose.
When everything you try to make your business succeed fails in spite of your best efforts, sometimes it’s the Hail Mary (or in this case, the Mountaineer Shot) that will help you drive your company forward at the end of the day.
