🌿 One Constant That Keeps Recruiters Grounded 🌿
A while back, I saw a Facebook post from someone I used to share a mastermind group with, Alex Charfen, that said:
"In moments of panic and overwhelm, one constant keeps entrepreneurs like you and me grounded, present, and magnetic: Process. 🧘♂️✨
The process is what sets you free in your business, and it is what creates momentum for you in challenging times. 🚀"
His post was aimed at all business owners, but I think it's something Recruitment and Search Business Owners need to pay particular attention to... 🤔
Nearly every Recruitment or Search Business worth their salt has a process for finding a candidate and filling a vacancy... 🎯
But they lack a WORKING and reliable process in almost every other area of their business... 🔧🚫
They don't have a working process for finding and bringing in new talent, so they end up with consultant after consultant who underperforms and costs the business money... 💸
They don't have a predictable process for winning new business, so they don't know where their next client is coming from... ❓
They don't have an effective sales process, so even when they do win business, it's for fees less than they deserve, with unfavorable terms, and usually competing with multiple other firms to fill the same role... ⚖️🤝
If you want a Recruitment or Search Business that thrives... You need a working process for every part of your business... 🔄🏆
"I Have to Work Every Job That I Get as Soon as I Can 🛠️⏰"
I was speaking to a Recruitment Business Owner a couple of days ago who said this...
"I have to work every job that I get as soon as I can because I don’t know when the next job order will come in. 😟"
I’ve heard similar sentiments from countless other Recruitment and Search Business Owners over the years...
Most never build a systemized and predictable way to bring clients through the door... 🚪📉
Many end up spending hours, even days, working on job orders that end up being filled by a competing firm... 💼💔
So even if their business is doing "well," it’s always overshadowed by anxiety because they’re not sure how long their "success" will last... 😰
The rush they get from every placement they make is quickly replaced with panic because they don’t know where the next one is coming from... 🌀
They do well when luck is on their side...
A client hands them a few more roles on a plate... 🍽️
Or they get a solid referral... 🤝
Or an ex-candidate/colleague/acquaintance hands them a role... 📞
They say things like..."We need to make the most of these opportunities while we can." ⏳
"Things are going well now, but who knows how long this is going to last." 🤞
"Hopefully, the market continues like this for a few months." 📈

"Fill your pockets while you can." 💰
Then, when things change, with a slight shift in the economy or a decline in demand... They have no way of generating their own demand and taking control... 🎲📉
It’s a gambler mentality, which (in my view) is no way to grow or run a business...
