Ten strategies to overcome your procrastination.

Procrastination is bad for your productivity-for getting done what you need to do - and as a result it can also be bad for your mental strength because you can easily become self-critical, overwhelmed and becalmed .

Here are ten quick strategies to help get you started ;

1.  The hardest part of taking action is just getting started.

2.  Setting clear deadlines and clear timelines help get you moving.

3.  Stop wasting time worrying about what you should be doing and start actively thinking about what you ‘are ‘ doing . Then, Just Do It.

4.  Always seek to answer the question ,“What’s the best use of my time right now ?”

5.  Making a decision is usually much better than making no decision , even if ultimately it's the wrong decision .

6.  If you overcommit to doing too many things then by default you will not get other things done that may be more important .

7.  Being better organised and managing your time effectively are both based on cause and effect principles. If you do this , something happens, if you don't do this it doesn't happen . Reflect on the consequence of procrastinating and not taking action.

8.  What’s the cost of you wasting time ? Do the maths on an hour a day at your hourly rate. Can you still afford to procrastinate ?

9.  Learn to use “active “language like “I will” or “I can” which will have a positive effect on your mindset . 

10.Remember to focus on one step and one day at a time . Just like climbing stairs .

Neat article Paul. Don't know if its just me but do people feel that there aren't enough hours in a day and feel guilty that they didn't achieve what they planned to do despite doing all that u have mentioned in the list. How do coaches address that?
