Touchy Feely Alert

Touchy Feely Alert

This may get too touchy feely for some of you but bear with me.

One of the key principles Patrick Bet-David outlines in Your Next Five Moves is the importance of knowing your core identity and purpose.

As a LinkedIn expert, I can't stress enough how valuable this concept is for building a powerful LinkedIn presence.

Knowing your core identity and purpose also helps you create a powerful personal brand.

When you know exactly who you are, what you stand for, and what drives you, every aspect of your LinkedIn profile—from your headline to your posts—becomes aligned with that purpose.

But to do that, you first need to answer some essential questions:

  • Who are you?
  • What do you value most?
  • What’s driving you—fame, freedom, legacy, power, or impact?

Without this clarity, your LinkedIn activity will feel scattered.

You might share content that doesn’t resonate or attract connections who don’t align with your goals.

Once you identify your true purpose, it’s like a lightbulb moment.

Your profile starts speaking directly to your ideal audience, your posts get more engagement, and your network grows with people who matter.

As I transition to the next stage of my career, I've been taking a lot of time reflecting on what truly drives me.

What drives me today is very different that what drove me 20 years ago.

Last night, my son Mike told me he's in the grinding phase of his career.

He's in his early 30s, he has clear goals and knows his purpose.

This is the time to escalate his income and move up the corporate ranks.

If he plays his cards right, he'll have enough FU money when he's 40 to say good bye to a corporate career.

I'm on the other side.

I did my grinding and now I'm enjoying the fruits of my labor.

Once you're clear on your identity and purpose, you’ll find it much easier to connect with the right people, create valuable content, and take the next steps in your LinkedIn strategy with confidence.

I love all the feels in this one, Ted Prodromou! We must know ourselves and our purpose in order to attract the opportunities that align with the reasons for what we do.

These three questions are great and when answered and acted truthfully we can hit the bullseye. As a believer in Christ the Lord I value the gospel of grace most and longs to impact every soul with this truth of eternal consequences .
