'Twas the season to be Jolly and Generative.
December brought us a bumper package of news and demos in the Spatial Computing, Volumetric Scanning and AI space. In particular, let's look at some of the top posts I noticed throughout December.
Generative AI:
Starting with LooseControl: Describe what you want (in text), make a very simple layout, and watch as the resulting image is generated on the fly.
Stable Diffusion enables the bringing of album covers to life. Exactly what we should have on Apple Music/Spotify/YouTube Music etc.
Image-to-Video Gen with Runway. Animated using RunwayML’s Gen 2
Talk about 'Quick change' artists. Here's a great example to introduce people to the power of AI substitution in video.
AI and fashion are a perfect match for pre-sales.
Generative AI enables 'endless zoom'.
Spatial Computing:
RayNeo X2 makes a mark with an impressive trailer.
Nimo showcases their imagined future of work.
Meta's MR 'Glasses' future design is rendered here.
Last but not least, we need to talk about...
Gaussian Splats
A combination of Unreal Engine and Generative processes means existing physical spaces can be recreated and endlessly reimagined in a fraction of the time from previous methods.
Scan, explore, and now search for items in the scene.
Automatically separated items from a scan...

Do add a comment or two for constructive feedback, it's always welcome and sometimes acted upon. 👍
Have a wonderful few weeks and I hope to see you here again for a review of Jan. 2024.
