Why Victoria Beckham Is a Business Inspiration to me

Recently I was asked, in a job interview: "Tell me a person that serve as an inspiration to you. Someone who's succesfull in business".

For the first 2 seconds (in which the situation seemed to be an eternity) the only thing that came to my head was something like "Error 404, Page not found" or "Windows Blue Screen".

Then, as a pop music fan, I had a great idea. I answered: VICTORIA BECKHAM! And here are the reasons why I chose her:

1) She's basically succesful at everything she does! She started her music carrer with the amazing Spice Girls. All of them had the great business sense to differentiate themselves in a very competitive market and made the right partnerships to become international icons. And inside the group, not only Victoria, but all of them 5 were able to work well as a team while at the same time demonstrating their individual personalities.

2) She was also very successful in her carreer transition from pop star to fashion icon. She always had a plan B, something she loved and was able to transform into a carreer oportunity. And of course, with the right networking and a great level of creativity, eventually she became a reference in the fashion market, also very competitive.

3) She is a defender of good causes. Some people only see her superficial side, because she's a very public person. But to many people's surprise, she's a UN (United Nations) goodwill ambassador and advocates in the fight against AIDS and illiteracy around the world, specially for women (that Girl Power that The Spice Girls evoke is true and ongoing!). Yep, she has more international policy experience than even Donald J. Trump, in case you didn't know.

4) She has always been able to monetize her personal life. Being a public persona, she constantly managed her public image in a positive way, got on the cover of many magazines/newspapers and became the face of uncountable articles. And still, she has been able to balance work life and family.

I really don't know if I'll get the job, but I'm sure I gave a great answer that surprised the interviewer. It showed my personality.

If I ever get asked this kind of question again, I won't even think twice! I know what I want, what I really, really want.
