Your body's spilling the tea! 🍵👀

Hey you, 

I wanted to jump in and nip something in the bud.

That something is the sneaky self-doubt stories that are penetrating every cell of your body. 'Am I really cut out for this job?' 'Can I handle all this pressure?' 'What if I f*ck up and get fired?'

If you're nodding, you're in the right place.

We've all felt like we're drowning in the deep end of the leadership stress pool. It happens to the best of us. 

But here's the tea: those feelings and sensations aren't a neon sign screaming "IMPOSTER!" They're your body telling you something important.

That something is outside your comfort zone.

That it's scary.

That it's new.

Sometimes it can feel like it's screaming at you and if you aren't in tune with your body on a daily basis...it's SO EASY to interpret those body sensations as bad.

When really all we need to do is acknowledge and remind our body that it's safe.

We do that through action ( our nervous system doesn't respond best to words )

Physical sensations in this context are great feedback that we are actually stretching ourselves ( as scary as it feels right now! )

But it can also be soooo confusing to know what is "good" and what is "bad" aka when your body is actually telling you to RUN (and not just because you're presenting to a room of execs)

Especially when you don't have a somatic practice dialed in.

But for today, try this on for size.

  1. Take a deep belly breath (like you're inflating a beach ball in your tummy).
  2. Exhale through your mouth with a sigh.
  3. Stand tall, shoulders back and loose, and just close your eyes.
  4. Pause and get curious: What's your body trying to tell you right now? Does anything come up? Just notice.

Feels weird? Stick with it and try it, every single day. You'll be surprised what drops in.

Last thing, I want you to remember: feeling uncertain doesn't mean you're unqualified. It means you're leveling up, evolving, and tackling new challenges like the boss you are.

You've got the skills, the knowledge and the fire. You belong in this role, period. Your body's been shouting it, even when your mind's been fighting it.

By tuning into your body's wisdom, you're flipping the script from 'I'm not enough' to 'I'm bringing unique fabulousness to the table.'

That's the secret sauce of authentic, powerful and embodied leadership.
