We recently celebrated a significant milestone in the construction of Fenton Community High School District 100’s new STEM Addition with a memorable Beam Signing event! This milestone marks the placement of the final steel beam in the building’s structure and the completion of the framework. We were excited to share this moment with Fenton High School District students, teachers, and staff, alongside our project partners.   The new STEM building will seamlessly connect to Fenton’s existing two-story wing and feature state-of-the-art science and technology classrooms, empowering teachers to expand their curriculum and inspire students. In addition, a large multipurpose staircase will link the two stories from the interior atrium, creating an inspiring and innovative space for students and staff alike. This week, we proudly participated in Construction Inclusion Week, an industry-wide initiative to promote inclusion, belonging, and diversity in the construction industry. Here are some highlights: ✔️ DOSB Day: We hosted a fantastic event to foster collaboration and partnerships with small and diverse-owned trade contractors in the Chicagoland area. It was great to see so many in attendance, and a special shoutout to Air Design Systems, Inc. for their inspiring presentation on their successes! ✔️ Engaging the Next Generation: Our Gilbane Chicago team members had the pleasure of presenting to Oak Park & River Forest High School students about potential careers in construction. We highlighted post-secondary interests, resources, and opportunities, inspiring the future leaders of our industry. ✔️ Community Impact Panel: Our Midwest Regional President, Michael Brown, joined a panel discussion with team members from across the company. They shared insights on the importance of workplace culture at Gilbane, navigating difficult conversations, and bridging generational gaps in the industry. The lobbies and lounge spaces at 10 and 120 S. Riverside Plaza are now open to tenants! This milestone is a key part of the ongoing transformation of historic twin office buildings in the heart of downtown Chicago. Check out the video below to view the space! The newly expanded lobbies and lounge spaces offer upgraded amenities, perfect for networking and engagement. We’ve also enhanced the landscaping and plaza areas, creating inviting pedestrian pathways and new seating options. Our Chicago team joined forces with colleagues nationwide to make a meaningful difference in our local communities.
