Rupal Sedani , Global Manager of RES-Q, delivered an impactful presentation on implementing quality monitoring at the 6th Stroke Masterclass in Nepalgunj. The RES-Q Registry, managed by the Health Management Institute (HMI), a not-for-profit organization, is supported by the European Stroke Organisation (ESO) as part of a comprehensive quality monitoring program. It receives funding through unrestricted grants from various stroke organizations and non-financial support from the World Stroke Organization (WSO). It's Time for Africa! At the recent Angels Train the Trainer program, RES-Q and RES-Q+ were introduced to six African countries. Emphasizing the mantra "What gets measured gets improved," we highlighted the importance of Quality Monitoring and showcased advanced tools like the data importer and patient virtual assistant. These innovations are set to significantly enhance stroke care in resource-limited settings. Rupal Sedani led an engaging workshop on the RES-Q platform, reaching over 100 physicians from Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, Congo-Kinshasa, and Ethiopia. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many eager to implement quality monitoring in their hospitals and use data to drive improvements in stroke care across Africa.

 Presentation of RES-Q and RES-Q+ project in WSO Global Stroke Alliance  At the 4th WSO Global Stroke Alliance-Latin America conference in Bogotá, Colombia, leaders from 12 Latin American Ministries of Health joined top regional and global stroke experts. Co-hosted with SIECV and IASO, this pivotal event focused on evaluating progress and setting priorities to advance stroke care across the region. Rupal Sedani represented RES-Q, the cornerstone of our RES-Q+ project, delivering a presentation on International Quality Monitoring. She introduced RES-Q+, highlighting its primary objective of automating data extraction and creating virtual assistant tools for patients' Life After Stroke. A group of AIDAVA and RES-Q+ ontology experts met in Freiburg on November 12 and 13, at the Averbis GmbH offices. The objective was to assess the ontologies being currently developed in both projects and how an upper level ontology – based on SIO and BTL2 – could help solve the different issues encountered and potentially align ontologies of both projects. The team successfully drafted a “Standard Upper-Level Ontology” – called SULO - and tested its soundness and fitness, working through several examples, demonstrating the value of such an approach. Both teams will further work on testing SULO and come with recommendations on how to further use such an approach within the respective projects but also on how it could be used for other projects. The long-term aim is to agree develop methodological approach – and a supporting Upper-Level Ontology - to develop domain specific ontologies in alignment.
