Catalyze has had an awesome 2024 with growth and change and resounding success, hitting targets and expanding Africa’s reach worldwide! Our team has supported programs in-person in 16 international cities, immersed ourselves in 30+ trade fairs, including; exhibitions, conferences, and B2B Matchmaking programs, and created meaningful connections across the globe. This year, we expanded on our programs with more informal networking opportunities such as city tours, unique cultural experiences, and industry-relevant site visits that go beyond the boardroom, helping exporters connect and collaborate in fresh, exciting ways before diving into their formal engagements. Our team has grown to over 10 strong, with new partnerships and representatives in key markets, we’re now more hands-on, present, and ready to make an impact—wherever in the world we go. We haven’t just been supporting African businesses at international events; we’ve been sourcing and connecting, developing our global buyer network which is eager to get deeper into the amazing opportunities Africa has to offer. Last week in South Korea the Africa Tech Startup Forum (ATSF) study tour went brilliantly. From the Day 1 visit to the Global Startup Centre and Seoul startup hub, to a visit to the Samsung Museum, Samsung C-Lab and Gachon Cocone School on Day 2, and a visit to Future Play on Day 3. Catalyze and Ndarama also got to meet with Professor Jang Dae-Ik, a prominent evolutionary scientist and philosopher of science, who is the Dean of Cocone School, a startup school in South Korea. The professor shared a presentation on the school, how it started, and their vision for the future. Our MD Rex Bowden and our International Events & Meetings Manager, Penrita Persadh, arrived in South Korea on Sunday and have joined the group as they prepare for the ATSF stand at COMEUP 2024 at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on December 11 and 12. #Catalyze #AfricaTechStartupForum #ATSF #COMEUP

After months of hard work, presentations, webinars, training, and pitching, the Africa Tech Startup Forum (ATSF) Top 20 startups and Catalyze’s Senior Event & Meetings Coordinator, Delaine Mottian, have arrived in South Korea and the study tour has begun! Day 1 saw the group head off to a debriefing and meet-and-greet session with the entire team, followed by their first corporate visit to the Global Startup Center, then to lunch in Gangnam, and finally a session at the Seoul Business Agency. The Catalyze team has a crazy exciting December ahead, kicking off with travel to Korea for the Africa Tech Startup Forum (ATSF) Study tour! The ATSF Top 20 startups selected from a fantastic pitching competition, will be participating in a series of events, including the Korea Startup Ecosystem Exploration Tour and an exclusive African Innovation Networking Night. They will also visit leading tech firms and investors such as Hyundai, and Samsung, before attending their stand at COMEUP (컴업)2024. Delaine Mottian, our Senior Event & Meetings Coordinator, will be flying up from December 1st, with our MD, Rex Bowden, and International Events & Meetings Manager, Penrita Persadh, stepping in from December 7th to 13th. Our team will be managing the group and ensuring they have an awesome and productive time, gaining invaluable insights and networking opportunities, and positioning them for global success. The ultimate goal is for the group to connect with global innovators, secure partnerships, and showcase Africa's tech prowess at the ATSF stand at COMEUP 2024. COMEUP is Korea`s most prominent startup event, organised by the Korea Startup Forum (KSF) at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on December 11 and 12. AN ENTHRALLING EXPERIENCE!!! Over the last few days, I've had the honorable opportunity to interact with amazing minds at the YALI Alumni Expo and Trade Show (YALI Expo), happening alongside the Africa Tech Festival. As I exhibited the work Esoma Solutions is doing in education, I engaged with peers, industry leaders and opinion shapers in the space as we figured out the future of technology in education. I am happy for the enriching experience I've amassed in that week, courtesy of the USAID, YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa and partners. The connections and collaborations built in Cape Town with the help of Catalyze and Ndarama Works will go a long way in strengthening our businesses and organizations. The Africa Tech Festival has officially come to a close, and as expected, it was nothing short of extraordinary! With over 15,000 attendees, the opportunities felt limitless. I set a goal to connect with as many “consequential people” as I could, and while I didn’t meet everyone, I’m proud to have connected with over 280 remarkable individuals—VCs, angel investors, industry leaders, stakeholders, and other movers and shakers. I’m deeply grateful for this experience as well as energized by what’s ahead. My team at Carsle has already commenced on the next phase: follow-up meetings to build on these connections and hopefully close a few deals. This is also an invitation to those inspired by Carsle’s mission. We’re currently raising pre-seed funding and would love to explore meaningful partnerships. If you’re ready to be part of something transformative, let’s talk and work out a good deal. Carsle is the social network for consultants/consultations. It is the knowledge marketplace.
