🎭 A Proud Moment for Belvoir St Theatre 🎭 Belvoir St Theatre was out in force again last week, presenting to our peers across the Australian Arts industry at the Tessitura TLCC 2024 Conference! We had three of our brilliant team members present, including: Fiona Hulton, Deputy Executive Director, Marketing, People and Community, who presented a keynote in the TLCC Innovator Series on how creative ambition can coexist with cultural and community responsibility, highlighting Counting and Cracking as a case study on how theatre can be a place for connection, healing, and representation. Samantha May Jones, Director of Development, presented on how Belvoir raised $1.5m in 12 hours with our wonderful 2023 Giving Day which ensured we could renovate our foyer and build more toilets for our patrons. And Gemma Clinch, Customer Experience and Ticketing Manager, presented on Belvoir’s process of training and onboarding our ticketing teams to supercharge them to success. Thank you so much TLCC for having us! It was also so wonderful to present and learn alongside our industry friends and see the brilliant work each Australian arts organisation is doing across the industry. See you at TLCC in 2025!

Belvoir St Theatre is a bold and risk-taking major theatre company at the heart of the performing arts in Australia.
About us
Based in an old factory on Gadigal land, Sydney, Belvoir is one of Australia’s most celebrated and beloved theatre companies. Since 1984, when a group of 600 theatre-lovers came together to buy a theatre and save it from becoming an apartment block, Belvoir has been at the forefront of Australian storytelling for the stage. Each year the company presents an annual season of shows for this now-iconic corner stage. New work and new stories sit at the centre of Belvoir’s programming, alongside a mix of reinvented classics and international writing, and a foundational commitment to Indigenous stories. In short, Belvoir is about theatrical invention, an open society, and faith in humanity. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Eamon Flack and Executive Director Aaron Beach, Belvoir engages Australia’s most prominent and promising theatre-makers. Belvoir has nurtured the talents of artists including Cate Blanchett, Simon Stone, Leah Purcell, Benedict Andrews, Tommy Murphy, Kate Mulvany, Anne-Louise Sarks, Wesley Enoch, S. Shakthidharan, and former Artistic Director Neil Armfield. Landmark productions include Counting and Cracking, The Wild Duck, FANGIRLS!, Cloudstreet, Barbara and the Camp Dogs, The Drover’s Wife, The Glass Menagerie, Angels in America, Keating!, The Sapphires, and many, many more. Belvoir regularly tours nationally and internationally. Belvoir receives government support for its activities from the Federal Government through Creative Australia and the state government through Create NSW.

We're tripling (x3) donations for one of Belvoir's most important programs - our Education Program! Our extensive Education Program provides students and teachers with industry-leading insights into the work of Belvoir, and first-hand experiences of the theatre-making process. Last year, for our very first Giving Day, our matchers quadrupled (x4) all donations to generate over $1,508,017 towards our new foyer and bathroom renovation. This year we invite you to invest in the Education Program, which is at the heart of Belvoir. Donate before 11 December to help us break down barriers, build confidence and unleash creativity! Our first-ever THE HIVE Networking Event ✨ Last Thursday was our first-ever THE HIVE Networking Night, where we gathered passionate young theatre enthusiasts and emerging philanthropists for an unforgettable evening of networking, inspiration, and support for emerging Australian artists. 🎭 THE HIVE is Belvoir's giving circle that champions the next generation of creative talent. In 2025 they will be supporting Belvoir's production of THE WRONG GODS, written by S Shakthidharan (Counting and Cracking, Jungle and the Sea)! On the night we were joined by S Shakthidharan who spoke about THE WRONG GODS, and Belvoir Board Member Stephen Allen joined us to speak about the importance of philanthropy in the arts. A big thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and made this event such a success, and thank you to the Poor Toms and City Oltra team for hosting us! What an incredible journey it has been during our first year of collaboration with The Women's Club, Sydney. Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting TWC for a performance of "Well Behaved Women," a powerful and inspiring production that beautifully showcased the strength and resilience of women throughout history. This occasion served as a poignant reminder of the transformative impact that occurs when women come together to support and uplift one another. Here’s to many more moments of empowerment and celebration in the future! Thank you Danielle Asciak, Isabel Deeble, Lyndal Gowland, Viktoriya Butler, Jo Ann Munro, Kerry Blight, Angela Bowne SC - we can't wait to see you at Belvoir again soon 💃 #WomenEmpowerment #Collaboration #Inspiration #Belvoir #TheWomensClubSydney
