Today, on 17th Anniversary of the national apology , Our team reflect on the pain and trauma caused by the forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families—a policy that tore communities apart and continues to have lasting impacts. On this day in 1997, the Bringing Them Home report was tabled in Parliament, documenting the devastating experiences of the Stolen Generations and calling for justice and healing. Acknowledging this history isn’t just important—it’s necessary. True reconciliation means listening, learning, and taking real action. One way we try to contribute is by supporting Aboriginal-owned businesses. Economic empowerment is key to creating intergenerational wealth, stronger communities, and real change. It’s a small but meaningful step toward closing the gap.
