Was a great event, with a top crew. Definitely felt the love for South Australian wines! Thankyou Department of State Development, MMI - Maritime and Mercantile International and all who attended 🍷
This Monday, Dubai experienced a Taste of South Australia. 🍷🙌 The day kicked off with five new-to-market wines - from Château Tanunda, Eight at the Gate Wines, Kilikanoon Wines Clare Valley, Murray Street Vineyards and Raidis Estate - and their representatives taking centre stage at the 'Diverse and Distinct South Australia' masterclass, led by Bharat Singh Rathore. Guests also had the opportunity to taste some of the existing South Australian wines in leading importer and distributor MMI - Maritime and Mercantile International’s portfolio, including those from Bremerton, d'Arenberg, Shaw + Smith, Thistledown Wines, Torbreck Vintners and Two Hands Wines. The evening saw top UAE hospitality professionals continue tastings and engaging in networking opportunities, with the event facilitating in-person connections with the wine representatives in attendance. Further enhancing the premium South Australian gastronomic experience, guests savoured a mouthwatering selection of South Australia's finest meat, courtesy of Thomas Foods International. What a perfect showcase of South Australia’s finest in the UAE. 🤩 Learn how our in-market experts can connect your business with opportunities in the Middle East & North Africa region: https://bit.ly/3WSP5un Sidharth (Sid) Mehta | Taliessin Reaburn | Tim White | Bodhi Edwards | Marianne Duluk | Sonya Madramootoo | Marcus Kuller | Anthony (Ant) Grundel | Hugh Waterman | Eleanor Champion | Alena Pavlova | Karan Dhingra | Mark Bough | Bharat Singh Rathore | Stephanie Rathore | Geoff Barker | Steven Raidis | Dagmar Roesner | Jane Richards | Ben Perkins | Tim Blair | MMI - Maritime and Mercantile International | Barrels & Beyond | Thomas Foods International

A big week for Eight at the Gate Wines with their launch yesterday in China. As the famous Chinese proverb says “the fragrance of the plum blossom comes from the bitterness of winter”. Thanks Nick Whiteway 🥰🍷
Jane Richards showing her new release wines to Drinks123 from Vietnam 🇻🇳 The ancient seafloor limestone catacombs under the Lanacoona vineyards in Wrattonbully provide a distinctive minerality in her whites, displayed as a delighful creamy texture, in balance with the cool climate acidity. The reds show intense, deep fruit; veiled power with an elegant, sophisticated feminine touch. Eight at the Gate Wines

Some of Australia’s finest on its way to China. Congratulations to Jane Richards and the team at Eight at the Gate Wines with the first load of their stunning wine on its way this week to eager consumers in China. Eight at the Gate is an Australian export success story, and it’s not hard to see why once you try their award winning wine. Grown in the rich terra rossa soils around Wrattonbully on South Australia’s famed Limestone Coast, the Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Chardonnay grapes are prized by many of Australia’s wine producers for inclusion in premium multi-regional blends. This is a great example of what I bang on about all the time. No matter the marketing, brand building, or genius behind the market entry strategy, at the end of the day, it’s about the product. Eight at the Gate wine stands out and demands attention. Whether you’re in China or Australia, do yourself a favour and get your hands on some. You’ll soon find out what all the fuss is about. #chinamarket #marketentry #wine #aussiewine #Australianwine ------------------------------------------- I'm Iain Langridge 毅安 and I use my experience in China to launch and grow premium consumer brands. Made with passion, resolve and a touch of chaos 🤪 21 the superlative vintage in so many regions, including Wrattonbully. Black and red fruits, some green pepper, subtle oak spice and brittle, spun glass tannins. The cool climate acid pops and I’d say the structure of this wine will give it a 20 year life in the cellar. Or drink now as I am! Eight at the Gate Wines Family Selection 2021
