Although evidence shows a significant increase in drone light shows worldwide, Australia is yet to see the full value of these events. Two shows we did recently, one with Brisbane Festival and the other National Canberra Authority, saw a huge increase in revenue to the local economy and was supported by tens of thousands of community members. The federal and state governments need to provide more funding to the arts sector and give back to their communities. ✨💫 Well this is exciting! The AAUS - Australian Association for Uncrewed Systems Industry Champion Awards Finalists have been announced and we're in THREE categories! Yes THREE! A huge congratulations to our one and only rock star, Sue Osborn for being nominated across two individual categories: - Leadership, for her enduring work driving the industry forward whilst maintaining high standards and providing a tangible and enduring benefit, and - Diversity and Inclusion, for her work advocating for access to all to the uncrewed system industry, specifically for STEM paths and her development of the Women in Uncrewed System Interest Group, within AAUS. Additionally, Skyshows Australia has been nominated in the Social Impact category for our enduring focus on a more sustainable aerial entertainment medium. Whilst we congratulate all nominees, we really need to again congratulate our own Sue. So well done, and deserved Sue. During our recent shows in Canberra, we were so pleased to host about 15 people from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, including CEO Pip Spence and Sharon Marshall-Keeffe. We have a standing offer to CASA to come down and check out our operations during our shows. All technology is not equal, therefore we appreciate the value of education and love chatting to those who are interested. Regulation of new technology can be complex and difficult, so we like to make it easier, where possible.
