In the wake of the 2022 floods, we set out to rebuild smarter … and higher. Our focus? Making our critical water and wastewater infrastructure across South East Queensland more resilient to the next floods that hit our region. And we wanted our parks and public spaces to continue to be great places to live, work and play in. So we asked locals how they would like the new switchboard to look in Canterbury Park in Bald Hills and ‘blending in’ won. It’s so realistic you just might miss it! Our project team have done wonderful work in designing and applying an eco-friendly vinyl wrap with a nod to the natural surroundings. Thanks to our community who shared their ideas, and to our delivery partner Downer WSP for this switchboard’s tree change that is set to stand the test of time. #Floods #FloodResilience #Parks #Community #Environment

  • ☁️ ☁️ VIEW FROM ABOVE! Check out this breathtaking view of the #transmission line project our #PowerProjects team recently delivered on behalf of Powerlink Queensland. ⚡ The job involved dismantling 48km of 132kV transmission line and replacing it with a higher capacity 275kV dual circuit, twin conductor transmission line to connect the Wambo Wind Farm to the transmission network. Commissioning has now commenced ahead of the energization of the Wambo Wind Farm, a new renewable energy development located in QLD’s Western Downs. 📷 Thanks to @Leading Edge Helicopters for sharing this great shot with us. • ♻️ Over the past few months, our #Water team based at the Tantivy Street Pump Station in QLD has been dedicated to recycling all bottles, cans and materials from the project site, contributing to higher recycling rates and reducing landfill waste through containers for change. The funds raised were initially planned to go towards a team BBQ or a team-building event. But after a serious motorcycle accident in remote Queensland affected a colleague’s family member, the team felt compelled to direct their efforts toward a cause close to their hearts. This time, they’ve chosen to donate to the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia Doctor Service (RFDS), whose critical care saved his life! 🛩️ 👩⚕️ 👨⚕️ The RFDS is a national charity, that provides primary healthcare and 24/7 emergency services to rural and remote Australia. Last year alone, the RFDS made over 336,000 patient contacts through aeromedical transports, clinics, and telehealth. ❤️ Thank you, Tantivy crew, for your compassion and forward-thinking approach. • 🏡 Last week Downer’s #Networks team joined our client Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) in Wollert for a tour of Australia’s first hydrogen-powered home. Our Derrimut based leaders had the opportunity to learn more about the 100% grey hydrogen-powered gas appliances and explore the future potential of hydrogen in transforming the gas distribution industry.
