🎤 Nov.'24 - EfVET participated in the project meeting and #Water #Hackathon hosted by the Stellenbosch University #Water and by the Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA). 🔎 Joining forces with South African partners and European partners, including government, #education, and water industries in Limpopo, Cape Town and others. We exchange our #knowledge, experience, and expertise in addressing pressing water challenges.    🔊 Platform of Vocational Excellence Water mission was an incredible opportunity to reflect on our progress, plan future activities and international partnership. This approach fosters deep collaboration between stakeholders to develop water smart solutions in the real-world sector.     📌 The water supply and treatment sector are a major #energy source for its collection, treatment, and transportation. First time in my professional life at European Training Foundation! So proud to have led a workshop on how to reverse the narrative toward motherhood to be valued as a privileged experience to practice and develop transversal skills highly required by the labour market. Fruitful discussions and full comittment on further investing in increasing women employment rate from participants from Ukraine, Moldova, Albania, Belgium, Georgia and Italy. Thanks to the MOVE-UP project that has proven to be effective in promoting tailored self-assessment and training for mothers who want to (re)enter the labour market. Who has doubts about motherhood as learning journey providing especially Personal, Social and Learning to learn competence, is invited to join our dissemination activities and test the MOVE UP Plan. As my dear friend and EfVET executive director Paolo Nardi have said: employers should think about motherhood as an asset and not a malediction! In addition, to not forget to always advocate against gender based violence, on the 25th of November I had the chance to remind all the participants the meaning of the #InternationalDayfortheeliminationofviolenceagainstwomen and the #orangetheworld campaign! #Gender #genderequality #women #mothers #motherhood

📆 #Turin, #Italy - 25/26 Nov. 2024 📢 EfVET cooperated with the European Training Foundation (#ETF) in the organization of an international event on “Adult Learning and Education (#ALE) in #VET: the role of Centers of Vocational Excellence (#COVEs)”, with 40 participants from the #EU and Neighbour Countries with expertise in adult re- & up-skilling in VET.    💡 The ETF core initiatives, Creating New Learning (#CNL), and Network for Excellence (#ENE), are joining forces to promote peer-to-peer learning for achieving #VETExcellence and to recognize the role of VET providers in the #skills ecosystems to improve adult learning. ➡️ The initiative includes practitioners, and experts responsible for adult learning and education from ministries or government agencies.  --- 🔎 Main goal: recognizing the need for increased participation of adults in education and training, the objectives of this joint event are to: a) Discuss the key challenges facing VET schools in adult #learning provision; b) Contribute to sharing good practices and innovative approaches among practitioners to strengthen the role and the capacity of VET providers, and especially COVEs, in adult education, re-skilling and upskilling of adults; c) Leverage the power of n#etworking and #cooperation among the ETF partner countries and EU VET provider associations. d) Provide insights for practitioners on tools and approaches for adult learning, such as #MicroCredentials, flexible learning offers, the role of CoVEs in upskilling and reskilling, in-company training, etc.  --- 📢  #EfVET is happy to participate, in partnership with European Vocational Training Association - EVTA and European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB), contributing with: - Paolo Nardi, who moderates the first session titled: "Setting the scene: active exchange on enhancing initial vocational #education and #training providers' role in delivering continuous VET - challenges, strategies, and best practices". - Sylvia Liuti, member of the Board of EfVET, brings examples for institutional cooperation in #ALE, with a special focus on the mothers re-entering the work environment and (self-)assessing their transversal skills developed thanks to motherhood experience (MOVE-UP). - Carlo Stefano Cavicchioli, from Learningdigital and World Alliance for Microcredentials Foundation, to bring their expertise and advancements on this important tool for #skills portability and international recognition of #competences.    📲 We finally thank ETF for this very important and timely initiative in a #lifelonglearning perspective.        #VET #NewSkills #EUVocationalExcellence #EfVETmembers  Olena Bekh, George Zissimos Theodor Grassos Giulia Meschino Florian Kadletz CoP CoVEs

🌍 Today is the International Day for the Elimination of #Violence Against #Women and Girls! #NoExcuse      👥 This day is the occasion to think of the impact of #violence experienced by many #women worldwide, (violence that sometimes can be lethal), and to take decisive action to put an end to it.    🔊 On November 25, we come together to address this issue as #ViolenceAgainstWomen remains alarmingly widespread. 🏫 From Nov.19 to 22, 2024, the Platform of Vocational Excellence Water meeting in South Africa will bring together experts, #PolicyMakers, and stakeholders to tackle critical #WaterManagement challenges and explore innovative solutions.   🎤 Professor Burtram (Bertie) Fielding welcomed the team at Stellenbosch University's Faculty of Science, where the three-day meeting is being held. 📢 Pieter Hoekstra and Erna van der Werff outlined the meeting’s objectives, which include:     ✔️Strengthening the #PoVEWater partnership and fostering a dedicated team.     ✔️ Exploring the #innovation ecosystem of the Western Cape and the role of Stellenbosch University's Water Institute.     ✔️ Exchanging global expertise to address South African water challenges while identifying local examples relevant to the project’s work packages.     ✔️ Reviewing progress, planning future activities, and defining concrete actions for all partners to advance the project’s goals.    🚰 This event will serve as a platform for sharing knowledge, discussing cutting-edge innovations, and shaping #sustainable #water management strategies.
