ESA WorldCereal reposted this
🚀 AGU24: Advancing Global Agriculture with Remote Sensing and AI 🌾 This week, I had the incredible opportunity to present two posters at AGU24, showcasing the innovative work we’re leading through the ESA WorldCereal project and the Santiago Grisolía program funded by Generalitat Valenciana. 🎉 On a special birthday Monday, during the NASA Harvest session, I presented: 📌 Crop Calendars: A Global Perspective We’re leveraging remote sensing and phenology modeling to enhance crop calendar accuracy on a global scale. By integrating Land surface phenology, crop type maps, and advanced machine learning, we’re redefining agricultural monitoring and management worldwide. 📌 I was also honored to represent Andreu Guillem Valls’s poster, which focuses on agro-climatical zones and their crucial role in refining global crop-type mapping and yield forecasting. 🌾 On Tuesday, I presented: 📌 GDD Normalization: Enhancing Winter Wheat Monitoring Using thermal (GDD) and hydric (precipitation and evapotranspiration) data, we’re analyzing the seasonal evolution of winter wheat across diverse regions like the U.S. and Spain. This approach is helping pave the way for more precise agricultural management and improved yield forecasting. Completely grateful to being here with my team, the Global Change Unit from University of Valencia (special regards to the best supervisor, Belen Franch and dream team Katarzyna Cyran & Fàtima Della Bellver). Thanks to them we had the chance to share novel highlights about AG remote sensing, specially with NASA Harvest team. 🌍 These efforts are part of a broader mission to improve agricultural monitoring, optimize crop growth models, and enhance global food security. AGU24 has been an inspiring platform to connect with brilliant minds passionate about using remote sensing and AI for sustainable agriculture. Let’s keep innovating and collaborating!
