🚨Open for endorsement - Join the call for concrete action on #MentalHealth in the EU! Over the last few years, the EU has developed promising initiatives for mental health. Now, it is time to turn them into concrete actions. Today, on #WorldMentalHealthDay, we join 32 other European organisations in a joint call for substantive actions to shape a Europe where everyone’s mental health thrives across their life course. The Joint Statement, drafted by the European Mental Health Advocacy Platform asks ➡ the European Commission to develop a comprehensive European strategy on mental health, with a clear timeline, adequate budget, and progress indicators. ➡ EU Member States to elaborate plans with a cross-sectoral approach to mental health and develop community-based, recovery-oriented mental health services. ➡ the European Parliament to establish an Intergroup on mental health, ensuring a formal structure to foster exchanges across political groups and strengthen collaboration between Members and civil society. The Joint Statement is open for endorsement by stakeholders until 10 December. 💚It is World Mental Health Day, so we are reminding European institutions to deliver on promises and honour commitments on mental health, particularly when it comes to children. To mark the occasion, 5Rights, along with 32 European organisations has signed Mental Health Europe’s joint statement urging the European Commission, European Parliament, and Member States to take substantive action in supporting the mental health of everyone in Europe. We welcome that President Ursula von der Leyen has promised to “take action against the addictive design of some platforms”. We call on the Commission to honour their commitment for the 1 in 10 adolescents who struggle to manage the amount of time they spend on social media, leading to negative impacts on their well-being. 📜 Read the full statement here: https://lnkd.in/eBxFYtha #WorldMentalHealthDay #EU4MentalHealth #mentalhealth #WMHD 🖊 Mental Health Europe, Volonteurope, European Alcohol Policy Alliance - Eurocare, Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME), SOS Children's Villages International, Make Mothers Matter - MMM, Learning for Well-being Foundation, Inclusion Europe, ILGA-Europe, GAMIAN-Europe, European Youth Forum, European Public Health Alliance (EPHA), ENUSP Network, European Medical Students’ Association (EMSA), EFPSA (European Federation of Psychology Students' Associations), FEANTSA, European Disability Forum, EASPD - European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities, European AIDS Treatment Group, Eurodiaconia, Eurochild, Eurocarers, Eurocadres, EUREGHA - European Regional and Local Health Authorities, EUPHA - European Public Health Association, EPSA - European Pharmaceutical Students' Association, EMDR Europe Association, COFACE Families Europe, Autism-Europe aisbl, Alliance for Childhood - European Network Group, ADHD-Europe, EuroHealthNet.

🤝In recent days, we've been in Brussels for two significant events. The first was the regular meeting of the European Medical Organizations (EMOs), a fruitful session where we shared our actions and further strengthened our collaboration across several vital areas for the medical profession in Europe. Notably, we coordinated actions for the upcoming Awareness Day of Violence Against Doctors and other Healthcare Professionals on March 12. Additionally, we delved into the pressing issues of the medical workforce, with a particular focus on retention and recruitment policies in Europe. Moreover, we participated in an assessment of fellows from the European Academy of Clinical Leadership alongside AEMH - European Association of Senior Hospital Physicians, the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), European Council of Medical Orders - CEOM, and FEMS - European Federation of Salaried Doctors . This collaboration underscored our shared commitment to advancing leadership and excellence in the medical field. These engagements in Brussels not only underscored the importance of continuous dialogue and cooperation among EMOs but also highlighted our collective efforts to address critical challenges facing the medical profession today. #EuropeanMedicalOrganizations European Doctors (CPME) European Medical Students’ Association (EMSA)
