Great to see our work with Graphic Packaging International, LLC published, within the framework of our master in Sustainable Food Packaging! Thank you Elodie Bugnicourt for the nice collaboration, and Lore De Ridder and others for the great work. It shows that it is crucial to consider food waste when comparing food packaging.

The study, "Environmental Impacts of Drug Products: The Effect of the Selection of Production Sites in the Supply Chain," uses life cycle assessment (LCA) to explore how geographical choices in pharmaceutical supply chains influence emissions, resource use, and overall environmental performance. Join me Thursday Dec 5th for a lunch seminar at University of California, Davis! In this seminar, we will discuss the key role of biomanufacturing and process systems engineering in the global green transition. In my talk, I will address how modelling strategies can enable feedstock flexibility in biorefineries and discuss how we can overcome limited data availability for performing sustainability assessment (e.g., LCA) during early stages of technology development. The focus will be on demonstrating how systems-based approaches can drive sustainable innovation. We’re excited to announce that our latest research in the COLUMBUS has been published in the Journal of CO2 Utilisation! 🚢🌍 In this paper, with Jordy Motte as main author, the team conducted a life cycle assessment on the production and utilisation of E-methane, including CO2 capture from lime production. This promising fuel can replace fossil fuels currently used in the maritime sector, helping to reduce the environmental impacts of the shipping industry.
