Hosted at the CE3C - Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes, the #Biodiversity Assessments at Small Scales (BASS) #project is to study how #microclimatic conditions (e.g. solar radiation) influence biodiversity dynamics (e.g. #species occurrence, #biotic interactions) within a #Mediterranean context. Now that the final paper in this special issue has been published, I would like to share a series of articles with you that summarise the current development status of the different BioDT biodiversity digital twins. This special issue brings together a total of 11 papers and, I think, does a fantastic job at presenting the project in its entire multi-faceted nature. I hope it also inspires further collaborations seeking to bridge the fields of ecology and high-performance computing.
