What a week! After coming together for Elevate, Raissa Espiritu headed to Ivey Business School at Western University for the launch of Ivey’s inaugural Regenerator Accelerator at the new Morrissette Entrepreneurship Institute, sharing her insights on entrepreneurship, sustainability, regeneration, and climate innovation. 🌱🌍 Raissa took the stage as a speaker across programs, inspiring HBA, MBA, MSc students, and #RegeneratorAccelerator founders to build with Purpose—highlighting how lived experiences can shape leadership in sustainable business. These dynamic discussions challenged everyone to think deeply about how we can drive innovation that delivers both purpose and profit. Raissa’s focus on breaking down barriers and creating greater access continues to redefine the space. She emphasized how innovative finance can fuel real change across industries—supporting diverse women and non-binary founders, pushing boundaries in climate and health, and making capital more equitable across sectors. Her lecture focused on Purpose 3.0 showed how lived experience and sustainable leadership are essential to driving meaningful impact. Raissa’s story will soon be featured in a new crucible Case Study at Western University. She also participated in a guest lecture on blended finance, delivered by Columbia University professor and World Economic Forum Council Member, Caroline Flammer. Raissa has been pioneering blended finance models for over 15 years, and it's good to see it gaining momentum across Canada’s innovation ecosystem. Massive thanks to Professors Oana Branzei and Dusya Vera, and Fellows Shirley Zhong and Kirsten Swatuk, for orchestrating such an inspiring weekend! And a special shoutout to the incredible founders, ventures, students and thought leaders who made the weekend unforgettable. Your work continues to fuel our mission to transform industries and build a more sustainable future! ✨ #ClimateInnovation #SustainableLeadership #PurposeDriven #BlendedFinance #EquityInAccess #RegeneratorAccelerator #IveyBusiness #Entrepreneurship #Purpose3 #IveyBusinessSchool #ImpactInvesting #AudaxaVentures #Regeneration #Sustainability #EquityAndInclusion #DiverseFounders

Lots to take in here at Startupfest! A highlight was today's panel as part of #Impactfest with Hilary Kilgour with Audaxa Ventures, Louis Delorme, CPA, CFA with Amplify Capital and Lyne Landry, ICD.D with AgeTech Collaborative™ from AARP Capital. Key takeaways: - Theory of change needs to be focusing on outcomes - Articulate expectations and education around impact outcome metrics for founders when going into an funding round. This way the whole founding team will be aligned on this important work - Think about cap table diversity just like having team diversity. A range of perspectives is how you will be set up for success - Materiality assessment for a large is not relevant for early stage startups - We need to align on metrics that make sense for the stage of the company - Ensure that even after you get acquired that you continue the impact and fuel that further (rather than have it lost) #startupfest2024 Startup Atlantic Charlotte Murray
