We want to give a HUGE shout out to our friends at Second Harvest & the great folks First National Financial LP 💚 They recently teamed up to pack a whopping 3,000 snack bags for our various CityReach programs - filled with healthy snacks and fresh fruits! As part of their commitment to "keep food on plates and out of landfills" Second Harvest not only pioneers research and advocacy projects, operate as Canada's LARGEST food rescue operation, but they go above and beyond to create community initiatives that engage the local community in giving back. Here, as part of their "National Snack Packing Week", they connected First National Financial LP with CityReach for this great event! These snack packs were given to children, families and individuals through our Adopt-A-School, Food For Families, and Club Freedom Outreach programs. Not only an additional nutritious benefit to the families and children we serve, they brought huge smiles to people's faces 😄 - as each and every bag had a special handwritten note on the front. Today, we had the privilege of spending time with CityReach Care Society - one of the largest fresh produce food bank’s in Vancouver. They provide food support to 1,000 families across Greater Vancouver. In just one day, we helped assemble over 300 packs filled with fresh produce, dairy, and packaged goods. What truly stood out was the dedication of their incredible 80+ volunteer team who show up every single week, truly inspiring! This Tuesday, the Vancouver team at Hays dedicated their "volunteer day" to support the CityReach Care Society together, we assembled over 300 packs of food, contributing to the community in a meaningful way. Today, some of us at Hays had the opportunity of volunteering with CityReach Care Society who are serving thousands of vulnerable individuals, children and families across Greater Vancouver. Just today, we were able to to help assemble 300+ fresh produce, dairy, packaged and protein hampers for families and these volunteers show up week in week out and it is inspiring to see their dedication.
