⚡ A big win for EV adoption on Vancouver Island! The City of Colwood is now home to the region’s first EV charging hub, featuring 12 fast-charging stations to support more electric trips. Expanding EV infrastructure like this is key to making electric driving more accessible. For Modo, it means more opportunities to integrate EVs into our fleet, giving members a reliable and convenient way to drive electric. As we work toward transitioning more of our shared vehicles to EVs, hubs like this make it easier than ever for our members to charge up and keep moving. More charging options = more EVs on the road = a big step forward for shared mobility! https://lnkd.in/gxw2syQ9

Carsharing reduces congestion and emissions—research shows that each carshare vehicle replaces 9 to 13 privately owned cars. That's why when we electrify carsharing, the impact multiplies: ✅ 1 electric carshare vehicle serves, on average, 100 members—meaning a fleet of just 50 EVs enables 5,000 people to drive electric, reducing emissions without requiring private ownership. ✅ Expands EV access and equity—carsharing serves many underserved communities, ensuring that those previously unable to afford EVs can access, benefit from, and become advocates for clean transportation. This makes decarbonization efforts more inclusive and impactful. The math is simple: one shared EV reaches far more people than a privately owned one. movmis latest whitepaper lays out how we get there and who has done what. If we truly want faster, more equitable EV adoption, carshare fleets must be prioritized in infrastructure discussions and purchase rebates. #SustainableMobility #EVAdoption #Carsharing #UrbanMobility #ClimateAction

100% true. Modo has been working on electrification of our fleet for a couple of years and had to be quite creative in overcoming infrastructure challenges. Programs like SCIP (the Shared Charging Infrastructure Program) or the Unpaired program help us. But there needs to be more attention to how shared fleets can access and use infrastructure. We don't have unlimited resources and -as we all know- #carsharing members reduce the number of vehicles on the road overall. So 100% there is double impact for our communities if we electrify carshare and build infrastructure for that. #ev #zev #infrastructure
When it comes to electrification, the conversation often centers on personal vehicles... But what about shared mobility? 🤔 Shared vehicles, like carshare fleets, offer a higher-impact solution by serving more people with fewer vehicles, significantly reducing emissions and alleviating congestion. 👏 However... One of the most pressing challenges our clients bring to us is securing funding for shared vehicle electrification and infrastructure planning because... Most policies and incentives are geared towards personal EVs, leaving shared mobility operators struggling to scale. 👎 To truly meet our climate goals, we need to shift focus to shared vehicle electrification, where the benefits ripple through communities. Stay tuned! Later this month, we’re releasing our Carshare Electrification Policy Playbook—a must-read guide for cities and operators to navigate this shift effectively. 👀 What do you think is the key to accelerating shared vehicle electrification? Let us know in the comments! 👇 #Electrification #SharedMobility #Carsharing #EVRevolution #SustainableMobility #SharedEVs #SharedElectricVehicles #Carshare #EVCarshare
