🚨 Protecting Those Who Maintain Ontario’s Roadways🚨 ORBA extends our heartfelt thanks to Minister of Labour, David Piccini, for his leadership in championing crucial amendments to the Highway Traffic Act. These changes, which now require motorists to reduce their speed and move over when approaching road maintenance workers, represent a significant step forward in protecting those who work tirelessly to keep Ontario’s roadways safe and operational. Road maintenance workers face dangerous conditions daily, and this legislation is a clear acknowledgment of the risks they endure. By slowing down and moving over, drivers are helping to save lives and ensure that every worker returns home safely to their families. Thank you, Minister Piccini, for your commitment to improving workplace safety and for recognizing the importance of protecting Ontario’s road workers. Together, we are building safer roads and a stronger province. 🚦 Tackling Congestion for Ontario’s Future 🚦 Lase week, ORBA’s Senior Director of Public Affairs Steven Crombie joined Anthony Furey on 640 Toronto to discuss a pressing issue impacting all Ontarians: congestion. ORBA recently commissioned a report comducted by Dr. Paul Smetanin that revealed congestion costs Ontario’s economy a staggering $56 billion annually. With our population continuing to grow, addressing this challenge is more critical than ever. To remain an economically competitive and vibrant jurisdiction, Ontario must expand its transportation networks to meet the needs of today and plan for the growth of tomorrow.
