AI is relevant to our client families now. And to the health systems in Canada, and worldwide, who support them. Workhorse Health is incorporating Vector Institute Best Practices, informed by OECD (May 2023) and AIDA (Sept. 2022) so we can help client families reach their goals faster, with greater precision, and at lower cost. We have a moral and professional obligation to use the skills we have to solve societal problems. In the Canadian healthcare sector in 2024, this means using tech resources available to us to help families, health systems, and all Canadians. But who is leading? What government or private sector orgs are genuinely stepping out to move this conversation forward fast enough so Canadians can benefit? Canada introduced the Artificial Intelligence and data Act (AIDA), but this will not come into force until 2026 at the earliest, and at the time of writing there are only 30 orgs that have signed the Voluntary Code of Conduct on the Responsible Development and Management of Advanced Generative AI Systems. I’m interested in hearing more from tech and regulatory experts - how can we lead today to benefit this country.
