🌊 Managing ‘Negative’ Crew Members: Turning Challenges into Opportunities 🌊 Working on a yacht brings together a diverse mix of personalities, and sometimes that includes crew members who lean towards the more ‘negative’ side. While it can be a challenge to manage, it’s important to recognise that a slightly negative mindset isn’t necessarily a bad thing — in fact, it can be a strength! A crew member who spots potential problems, has sharp critical analysis skills, and isn’t afraid to voice concerns can be a real asset. The key is finding a balance and not letting negativity turn toxic. Valuing their input, setting clear boundaries, and leading with a positive example are crucial steps to maintaining a healthy crew dynamic. Creating the Perfect Crew Fit 🌅✨ Last weekend, I went on a sunrise hike with some good friends—all of us ex-yachties. As we took in the view, our conversation turned nostalgic, reflecting on the family-like bond you find onboard. Of course, not every yacht feels this way, but the ones we remembered most fondly all shared that sense of unity. What truly creates that "family feeling" onboard? It’s the mix of crew—individuals with aligned work ethics and complementary personalities. As any crew member will agree, it’s the people who make the yacht memorable, far more than the itinerary, salary, or even the owners. As a yacht recruiter, my focus is on finding the right person for the right yacht. It’s a skill that comes from truly understanding both clients and candidates, ensuring a seamless match that benefits everyone involved. If you're searching for crew for the upcoming winter season, I’d love to connect and discuss your specific needs. Let’s work together to find the perfect fit for your team. #YachtingLife #CrewRecruitment #YachtCrew #WinterSeason #YachtingFamily #ExYachties #PerfectMatch
