On this test flight, ATMOS will become the first private entity in European history to attempt space re-entry, while setting a new global standard for payload efficiency of 1:2 — redefining commercial space logistics. Today, we are very excited to announce that ATMOS has secured €13.1 million in funding from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator, a key program of the European Union’s Horizon Europe framework. The EIC Accelerator strategically supports companies developing high-impact innovations 🇪🇺 This investment enables us to expand our engineering and testing capabilities, accelerating the development of our #PHOENIX 2 capsule.  Alongside our participation in #ICARUS, a European Commission-backed consortium developing inflatable heat shields for rocket stage recovery, this milestone reinforces Europe's commitment to building sovereign space logistics as a crucial part of its growing infrastructure. With personnel costs making up a significant portion of expenses, fast execution is key to success. This is especially true in the space industry, which has long been associated with delays and cost-plus contracts. NewSpace is changing the game—gaining space heritage as quickly as possible isn’t just a milestone; it’s a critical signal of success. 02. Choose your team wisely. People’s skills and personal motivation impact everything—from the energy in the workshop to the results in the long run. At ATMOS, I’ve learned how a daily dose of passion, commitment, and ownership affects what’s possible. The right team doesn’t just execute; they expand the boundaries of what can be achieved. 03. Love what you do—because you’ll hate it sometimes. Building a space company is tough. You’ll face problems no one has solved before, make mistakes, encounter opposition, and hit roadblocks. But when you truly love something, you have learned to trust—your team, yourself, and the process. Nothing will test and shape your leadership skills more than tackling challenges you can’t Google your way out of.
