ATMOS is going to space! Our PHOENIX re-entry capsule has received FAA approval and is set to fly on SpaceX’s Bandwagon-3 rideshare mission no earlier than April 2025. On this test flight, ATMOS will become the first private entity in European history to attempt space re-entry, while setting a new global standard for payload efficiency of 1:2 — redefining commercial space logistics. Achieving this milestone in under 12 months is a testament to our team’s relentless drive and innovation. Today, we are very excited to announce that ATMOS has secured €13.1 million in funding from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator, a key program of the European Union’s Horizon Europe framework. The EIC Accelerator strategically supports companies developing high-impact innovations 🇪🇺 This investment enables us to expand our engineering and testing capabilities, accelerating the development of our #PHOENIX 2 capsule. Alongside our participation in #ICARUS, a European Commission-backed consortium developing inflatable heat shields for rocket stage recovery, this milestone reinforces Europe's commitment to building sovereign space logistics as a crucial part of its growing infrastructure. For more details of this announcement, please find our press release in the comments below. We want to thank our partners, and the incredible ATMOS team for making this possible. Step by step, we are reshaping the future of space re-entry and logistics! 🌍✨ #ATMOS #EuropeanUnion #EICAccelerator #SpaceLogistics #PHOENIX #SpaceTech #EUFunding European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) Marta Oliveira Sebastian Klaus Christian Grimm Jeffrey Hendrikse

Thank you, Carla Filotico for moderating this insightful panel at #LEAP25! How do you build a space company? Here are three key takeaways from our discussion: 01. Speed is crucial. With personnel costs making up a significant portion of expenses, fast execution is key to success. This is especially true in the space industry, which has long been associated with delays and cost-plus contracts. NewSpace is changing the game—gaining space heritage as quickly as possible isn’t just a milestone; it’s a critical signal of success. 02. Choose your team wisely. People’s skills and personal motivation impact everything—from the energy in the workshop to the results in the long run. At ATMOS, I’ve learned how a daily dose of passion, commitment, and ownership affects what’s possible. The right team doesn’t just execute; they expand the boundaries of what can be achieved. 03. Love what you do—because you’ll hate it sometimes. Building a space company is tough. You’ll face problems no one has solved before, make mistakes, encounter opposition, and hit roadblocks. But when you truly love something, you have learned to trust—your team, yourself, and the process. Nothing will test and shape your leadership skills more than tackling challenges you can’t Google your way out of. A big thank you to all panelists for sharing their experiences and shedding light on the grind, the passion, and the vision that bring us closer to the stars—to create impact here on Earth. 🌍🚀 Wojtek Walniczek Raj Gautam Robert Greinecker #NewSpace #Entrepreneurship #Leadership #SpaceTech #ATMOS

ATMOS welcomes Balnord as an investor in our journey to establish a new paradigm for Earth-to-Space-to-Earth logistics 🌌 With Balnord's backing we are accelerating the development our re-entry technology to enable breakthroughs in microgravity research, in-space manufacturing, and sustainable space logistics 🌍 Lecimy, Team Balnord! #SpaceTech #Investment #NewSpace #DeepTech #ATMOS
🚀 Thrilled to introduce our latest investment and its groundbreaking milestone. Welcome, ATMOS Space Cargo in Balnord! The company develops cutting-edge technology to enable the return of cargo from space. We're incredibly proud to support Sebastian Klaus, Marta Oliveira, Christian Grimm, and Jeffrey Hendrikse, who have turned this ambitious mission of revolutionizing the space cargo industry into reality. ATMOS is developing its technology at an enormous pace. The company has received FAA approval and will become the first private European company to attempt space re-entry with its PHOENIX capsule! The mission will launch on SpaceX's Bandwagon-3 rideshare mission in April 2025, aiming to redefine commercial space logistics with an industry-leading payload efficiency ratio of 1:2 - ten times above current market standards. This milestone isn't just about space technology. It's about European capabilities for competing on a global scale. With the recent addition of Lori Garver, former NASA Deputy Administrator, joining an already stellar advisory board including Fabrice Testa and Georg Herdrich, ATMOS is well-positioned to revolutionize the space cargo industry. We're happy that our teammates Aleksander Dobrzyniecki, who lead investment process on our end, and Wojciech Drewczyński, can support founders with their resources and network during their journey. Congratulations to the entire ATMOS team on this historic achievement! Looking forward to the launch 🛸 The future of European frontier technologies is being built today, and as Balnord we're committed to backing the teams making it happen. 🚀 More details you'll in the article below. #spacetech#deepeech#investment#venturecapital#entrepreneurship

"Speed, heat and shock!" Read this accurate in-depth feature on the technology we have developed and crafted into our PHOENIX 1 re-entry capsule for its first test flight by Douglas Gorman for Payload: https://lnkd.in/eUic6f3J
Everyone loves a launch. It's the coolest part of the job, but getting things home from space is the where the real magic is happening. The speed, heat, and shock of reentry causes the vast majority of space hardware to burn up in the atmosphere, and barriers to reentry have kept many lofty ambitions (in-space manufacturing, bioengineering, and microgravity research) out of reach. Luckily, the number of companies actively demonstrating solutions to this problem is about to increase by one. ATMOS Space Cargo has a truly wild solution. It's Phoenix reentry capsule, launching as soon as this April, has a 6 meter inflatable heat shield. It can protect up to 100kg of cargo from launch to splashdown... all without any parachutes. These rides can cost just €45,000/kg, making orbital science more affordable and accessible than ever before, and future iterations may be able to carry 25 metric tons to orbit and back on a single mission. If successful, Phoenix and ATMOS will transform what's possible in space. Best of luck to the whole team, and thanks to Sebastian Klaus and Krystian Bandzimiera for diving deep on the technical aspects of the vehicle for Payload. Full story in the comments..
