✨ Professor Andreas Waag, Professor Patrick Schwerdtner and Master student Sarah Koop-Brinkmann from #TUBraunschweig are winners of the #NiedersächsischerWissenschaftspreis 2024! ✨ 🏆 The prizes were awarded by Science Minister Falko Mohrs to scientists and students from Lower Saxony's universities on 20 November. Professor Andreas Waag from the Institute of Semiconductor Technology received the award in the category 'Scientist at a University in Lower Saxony'. Andreas Waag's research focuses on the light-emitting material gallium nitride, and he develops optical technologies for quantum and nanometrology and other next-generation applications. 🔎 In the 'Teaching Award' category, Professor Patrick Schwerdtner from the IBB | Institut für Bauwirtschaft und Baubetrieb - TU Braunschweig was honoured. Professor Patrick Schwerdtner emphasises a holistic approach to teaching, integrating subject knowledge and practical experience with the development of academic skills. 👨🏫 Electrical engineering student Sarah Koop-Brinkmann won the award in the 'Students' category. The jury based its decision on the fact that "she has distinguished herself both through outstanding academic achievements and through her social commitment in supporting school pupils interested in studying at university in their choice of subject on the one hand, and foreign students on the other". 👩🎓 🎉 Congratulations!
