For decades, bubble wrap has been used to ship stuff. We think it’s time to move on.

Woola's Got Talent, Episode 3: You wouldn’t guess it from this video, but we sometimes call this powerhouse of a woman ‘Mari the Machine’ (with love, of course). Besides her excellent skills of 👏getting👏those 👏 leads👏, Mari LOVES weeding. Now, that’s a unique set of talents you don’t see every day!
"What really makes people feel powerful?" Money? Nope. Status? Overrated. Pulling weeds and getting every last root? Oh yeah, baby! After a long day, my new favorite therapy is heading out to the garden, finding those pesky weeds, and pulling them out, roots and all. There’s something weirdly satisfying about clearing the way for healthier, more vibrant growth—it’s instant progress! And funny enough, it’s a lot like what I do at work. My mission? Helping companies weed out wasteful plastic and replace it with sustainable, wool-based packaging.

So proud to see Woola featured in Sweden's leading business newspaper Dagens Industri today: “From smart idea to reality - wool instead of bubble wrap” 🤩 As the Nordic Sales Manager, working at Woola over the past year has been an incredibly rewarding journey. It makes me so excited to see how Scandinavia is gradually embracing Woola’s waste-based packaging as a sustainable replacement for plastic bubble wrap. Today, this recognition in Dagens Industri highlights not just our commitment to sustainability, but also the growing demand for innovative, circular solutions in packaging. ♻️ A huge thanks to my incredible Woola team for their passion and dedication, and to our awesome customers for believing in our vision. Together, we’re making big strides toward reducing reliance on fossil fuel-based products and creating a more sustainable future! 📖 Check out the feature here: https://lnkd.in/d7WZHg4q

What if jewellery boxes were lined with wool instead of synthetic materials? 🤔 We’ve been playing around with this idea and developed some prototypes that could work for earrings, necklaces or rings. Know of any jewellery brands that would be a good fit? Tag them in the comments. P.S. Thanks for everyone who shared insights on watch brands a couple of weeks ago, we are on it!

Woola's Got Talent, Episode 2: If there were a contest for 'most bang-average founder,' Jevgeni Širai would be the world champion. At least, that's what he thinks. Jevgeni's other talents include one-of-a-kind humor and staying true to himself. In fact, several people we've interviewed for jobs at Woola have told us our team is cool and all, but Jevgeni really takes the cake. 🎂

Woola's Got Talent, Episode 1: Meet Basma, our star polyglot from the sales team who's been bending over backward (literally!) at Woola for a year now. Basma doesn’t just speak many languages; she holds a ✨very✨ impressive record—fitting 21 nacho cheese balls in her mouth at once.
I don’t usually toot my own horn, but languages are my hidden superpower! I speak 6 languages, and here’s how they’ve made a difference in both my work and personal life: 1. Breaking the ice: Even if I can’t carry an entire conversation, starting with a few sentences in someone’s native language is a great way to kick things off. People are often surprised, impressed, or just happy to see the effort—and their reactions always warm my heart! 🥰 2. Building rapport: Whether it’s with a customer or my mother-in-law, speaking their language really strengthens a connection. People genuinely appreciate the effort, and it means a lot to them. I've made so many new friends in foreign countries with this! 3. Humbling & character building: Not everyone is kind to non-native speakers! I’ve had people underestimate or treat me differently because my skills didn’t quite match those of a native speaker. It can be challenging, but it fuels me to keep getting better. What secret talents have helped you get ahead in life? Would love to hear from you in the comments!

"Do you have any celebrity endorsements?" 💁♂️ Not all VCs are this clueless when it comes to the sustainable manufacturing business, but many are. Grateful to Kair Käsper and Martin Kõiva for helping us with this. They have a lot of free time now, so they are occasionally accepting low-paid acting jobs btw.

This year’s Sustainable Design Platinum winner (sponsored by UPM) is… Wool Gusset Envelope by Woola ! Wool Gusset Envelopes were designed to replace plastic bubble mailers, and they offer a sustainable way to ship products safely and deliver a message of sustainability with the parcel. They are made of a regenerative waste material, reusable and compostable. Woola have also launched a pilot circular program in Estonia to let people return the wool inlays to keep the valuable material in the loop! Well done Woola team! #pentawards #pentawards2024 #pentawardsgala #pentawardswinners #packagingdesign #galaceremony #packagingdesigner
