It is a pleasure to support SolarPower Europe and sponsor their #EUSolarOutlook2024. As their CEO, Walburga Hemetsberger, said “Europe needs to be installing around 70 GW solar PV annually to hit its 2030 targets – we need to consider corrective action now, before it’s too late” and Velto Renewables wants to play an instrumental role in those additions across Europe.
The EU solar sector issues a yellow card as sector growth slows dramatically.🟨 After several years of record-breaking market growth, the latest edition of our EU Market Outlook for Solar Power warns that 2024 brings only 4% annual growth to the EU solar market. 📉 While the EU installed 66 GW of solar in 2024, this merely inches past 2023’s record of 63 GW, at a time when we cannot afford to slow down. “Europe needs to be installing around 70 GW solar PV annually to hit its 2030 targets – we need to consider corrective action now, before it’s too late,” says Walburga Hemetsberger, CEO SolarPower Europe. Today, December 9, marks the fourth anniversary of Velto Renewables. Many things have evolved over the past four years: our corporate structure has strengthened, our growing team accrues exceptional industry expertise, our solar PV portfolio in Spain has been optimized, our onshore wind management activities continue to expand, our developing pipeline is steadily progressing …and yet, words alone cannot fully capture the success we see when we look back at our journey or the excitement we feel for the plans that lie ahead. All this makes Velto Renewables a #ProudPlayeroftheEuropeanEnergyTransition, contributing to decarbonizing the global economy is both our mission and our biggest satisfaction.

Guadix is a heritage town in the province of Granada in Spain. In the Ancient Roman times it was called Acci, becoming Wadi Ash during the Arab period in Iberia until the late 1400s. This fascinating history brings us to the year 2007, when this beautiful, and pristine dual-axis-tracker solar PV plant owned by Velto Renewables was built and commissioned. Our asset management and operations team was out there last week, facing - alongside the project's panels - the white and snowed Mulhacén peak, 3,478 m, highest summit in Iberia. 🏔️

🌞🔆🔆 FSP or PaP? Transferring GOs or rather not? Corporate or utility? Physical or financial? Short term or long-term hedge?... We are sure all these discussions ring a bell to anyone dealing with #PPAs these days. And this is what Rafael Calleja Sanchez-Taiz, Project Manager at Optimize Energy, has addressed today during another phenomenal session of the #VeltoAcademy. #continuingeducation 🧑🎓 👩🎓📓 ✏️

Since 2022, Velto Renewables is part of the London Array Limited team supporting the activities of our shareholder Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) as a 25% partner of the asset. With its 175 WTG and 630MW installed capacity, London Array Limited will always be an #offshorewind global landmark. For these and many other reasons, we are honored to have hosted today the Executive Committee meeting number 120 of London Array Limited– where our Lucas de Haro sits as a board member as well as our Marta Vazquez Calle as an observer – at our premises in Madrid. We also had the chance to visit yesterday our two-axis-tracker solar PV plant, El Redondo, located in the province of Albacete, Spain, with the London Array Limited directors. #SolarPV and #Offshorewind joining efforts to achieve the #energytransition.
