Ever wondered how digital transformation can promote inclusion and accessibility? Meet Alsmany! Nine-year-old Alsmany and his family had to escape their home in Khartoum, Sudan because of the conflict in the country and now reside in a shelter far away in the east of the country. This is where UNICEF has established an inclusive learning space, to support children on the move like Alsmany. Thanks to this programme, Alsmany is not left behind, despite being born with a disability. With digital learning, which provides self-paced, individualized instruction, Alsmany is able to engage with simplified lessons. With gamified content on solar-powered tablets, the platform ensures school-age children can continue learning across a variety of subjects, and it provides psychosocial support as well. 👉 Read Alsmany's story here: https://lnkd.in/dsWEQgyH In 2024, we were committed to using cutting-edge technology to help make children around the world feel more included, regardless of their circumstances. In 2025, we will continue to do the same: New year, new technology, same commitment 🌟 #DigitalTransformation #ForEveryChild #Inclusion

Opportunity starts with investing in youth 🌐 Nearly one-quarter of young people in Türkiye are neither engaged in employment, education, or professional training. The ‘Mobile Makers Ateliers’ programme aims to address the challenge of youth unemployment in the country. With workshops held in Kilis and Gaziantep, young participants had the opportunity to develop valuable skills such as digital literacy, analytical thinking, and problem-solving— essential skills for their future employability and growth. In 2024, we were committed to supporting children around the world in gaining access to opportunities. In 2025, we will continue these efforts: New year, new technology, same commitment 🌟 #DigitalTransformation #ForEveryChild #Opportunity

Want to find out how digital transformation improved access to quality education in 2024? 📚 The Learning Passport (LP), managed by UNICEF and Microsoft, is a solution that offers digital learning opportunities in refugee community schools and non-formal learning spaces. It provides content to students, teachers, and parents on various topics, including life skills, digital literacy, climate change, STEM education, play-based learning, and positive parenting. In 2024, even more children were able to access quality education and interactive learning opportunities, even in low to no connectivity areas. For example, the innovative Offline LP pilot kicked off in Egypt in partnership with the Ministry of Education in four rural community schools. In 2024, UNICEF did everything we could to support children around the world in accessing education. In 2025, we will continue to use the latest innovations to reach even more children: New year, new technology, same commitment 🌟 #DigitalTransformation #ForEveryChild #Education

UNICEF Technology for Emergencies (T4E) team has just wrapped up a first-of-its-kind workshop with UNICEF Pakistan, International Telecommunication Union, and GSMA. The Humanitarian Connectivity Charter (HCC) workshop was held in Islamabad on 11-12 December and brought together key stakeholders in Pakistan's telecommunications sector, including the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Pakistan, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Ministry of IT and Telecom Pakistan, telecom providers such as Jazz, Ufone, and Telenor, UN agencies, and other related organizations. For the first time, UNICEF co-led such an initiative, facilitating important discussions on: . The role of telecommunications in early warning systems. . Enhancing services for affected populations. . Sharing real-time information during emergencies. A highlight of the workshop was the simulation exercise, where participants identified coordination gaps and explored innovative solutions to improve disaster response efforts. Additionally, participants visited the newly revamped National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC), where the NDMA shared recent updates in this area. True to UNICEF’s child-centered mission, the dialogue emphasized inclusive communication, ensuring that all community members including children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities, are effectively reached during emergencies. The workshop underscored the importance of working together to build a more resilient future #foreverychild.
