Lovely chat at Reward last week with Anna Jaycocks and team discussing women in tech! A question came up around advice for the next generation of female leaders I thought i’d share some points: 👭 1 - Learn from other women! We are already doing so many great things. Have a mentor or even just a chat over a coffee to gain insights and perspective. It’s always nice hearing stories you can’t read in books or watch on socials. 🏆 2 - Champion yourself! Talk about your accomplishments in the workplace (and in life) because if you don’t no one else will know. There is an amazing initiative #IAmRemarkable#IAmRemarkable which I suggest checking out to help not just women but all under-represented groups learn how to articulate their achievements. 👁️ 3 - Own your vision. Be proud of what you’ve accomplished and also what you haven’t accomplished yet. Have an opinion, have a vision and go for it! Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do something. Picture this: It's 1 AM, I'm knee-deep in coffee cups and crumpled drafts, hammering out scripts about lightning-fast internet and viral videos. Just another late night in ad land, right? Plot twist: In a few hours, I'm set to meet the architect of India's digital revolution, Nandan Nilekani. Morning comes. Sleep-deprived but wired, I step into his office. I spot a corner of achievements that could fill a museum. Yet they're tucked away, humble. Lesson learned: When you're changing the world, trophies are just fancy paperweights. The man speaks, and suddenly, 12 digits aren't just numbers - they're a nation's future unfolding. I'm awstruck. Here's to late nights, unexpected mornings, and the magic of saying yes to terrifying opportunities. Because sometimes, between drafts about download speeds, you might just download some life-changing inspiration. ❤️
