We're delighted to be working with Alan Coleman and the team at Wolfgang Digital to champion the cause of Employee Ownership Trusts in Ireland. The UK incentivised EOTs 10 years ago and since then more than 1,750 companies have transitioned into employee ownership – with 124,000 employees sharing in the rewards of building strong, domestic companies. EOTs should be a similar success story here in Ireland but the next government will need to get behind them and make it happen. Congrats to Business Plus Magazine for this great article. #EmployeeOwnership #EmployeeEnagement #Election2024 https://lnkd.in/e4Ypk-QF

Employee ownership allows working people to share in the success of the businesses they work for through incentives such as stock options and ownership trusts. One of our clients is the IPSA - Irish ProShare Association, which advocates for increased employee ownership in Ireland. It has always been very rewarding working with IPSA, not least at their recent Employee Share Ownership Day 2024 conference, where experts and leaders from the share plan community in Ireland and beyond gathered at PwC Ireland in Dublin to share ideas and provide insight into current and future trends across the sector. As a General Election looms large in Ireland’s near future, now is the ideal time for all political parties consider the benefits of increased employee ownership and how policy can promote it as a positive economic model for supporting and growing Irish business. There's a lot to welcome in the Indecon Review of the Taxation of Share-Based Remuneration. The recommendation that Ireland reforms its tax treatment of Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs) and adopt a similar model to the UK is particularly good news. We look forward to working with the Government and moving this forward towards implementation. The Review also contains other recommendations on share plan PRSI, the KEEP scheme, RSUs, and share plan administration, as well as many other findings. Good news at ESOD24 - with Paul Rice from Computershare Ireland confirming the return of SAYE, the Revenue-approved all-employee share plan. This follows the decision from AIB to become a savings carrier for SAYE. Paul says there is already significant interest from many companies.

This agreement is very welcome news! Securing the viability of SAYE has been a priority for IPSA for several years and we’re delighted that companies will again be able to offer their employees participation in what was one of Ireland’s most popular Revenue-approved share schemes. We congratulate Computershare Ireland and AIB for taking the first step towards ensuring the future of SAYE as a long-term incentive model for Irish business. #SAYE #Employee_Engagement #Employee_Ownership
We are pleased to announce that Computershare has entered into an agreement with AIB to act as a savings carrier for Irish approved Save As You Earn (SAYE) schemes: http://spr.ly/6041oYxyU The contract with AIB means our clients offering an Irish revenue-approved SAYE scheme are now eligible to use AIB as a savings carrier in conjunction with their scheme. The agreement with AIB to act as savings carrier further cements our position as the natural choice for employers who need end-to-end solutions for employee share plan administration and employee services support and will help us provide the best possible support to participants in Ireland.
