We enable early cancer detection by increasing attendance at screening and diagnostic appointments
About us
Asa is a medical receptionist in your pocket. Asa enables patients to book, change and pay for medical appointments via instant message in their preferred language, at any time. No new app to download or website to visit. Patients can interact with Asa like they would with a human receptionist. Asa leverages AI to predict and reduce no-shows, providing clinic staff with actionable insights on which patients are likely to miss their appointment. Asa reassures patients, answers non-diagnostic questions, and uses behavioural science and generative AI to tailor communication, improving equitable access and appointment attendance.

We are pleased to announce that SPRYT has signed a collaborative agreement with Treatment.com AI Inc. (CSE: TRUE, OTC: TREIF, Frankfurt: 939). Both innovative AI healthcare organizations are exploring complementary technology synergies. By combining our AI receptionist Asa, which acts as a front door to the healthcare system, with Treatment.com's technology that takes a full medical history and helps triage patients, we can significantly improve patient experience while reducing admin burden and cost within healthcare systems. Treatment’s proprietary Global Library of Medicine (GLM), enables healthcare professionals to capture a patient’s presenting symptoms, past medical history and through smart proprietary algorithms, formulate the most likely diagnosis and suggest the most important tests/exams that should be performed. This history can then be shared with the patient’s healthcare professional in real time and also programmed to help with triaging patients more efficiently. Treatment and SPRYT intend to explore mutually beneficial opportunities through the partnership, including within the UK, North America and Middle East where both companies have already made inroads. #digitalhealth #patientexperience #AI #healthcare https://lnkd.in/eVEmfzwx

PAI Fellow Dr Doris Dippold (PhD, MA, PFHEA), with University of Surrey researchers, NHS North Central London ICB, the Islington GP Federation and technology provider SPRYT, are piloting the use of WhatsApp and AI for the first time, to streamline cervical cancer screening appointment booking and rescheduling. “This project seeks to understand how language, culture and technological barriers can affect uptake of cervical screening offers. We will use evidence from qualitative interviews and analysis of patients’ interactions with ASA to understand how ASA can be developed to better meet the needs of those groups who are currently underrepresented in cervical screening.” PAI Fellow Dr Dippold. We are proud to share that SPRYT, in collaboration with NHS North Central London ICB and the Islington GP Federation, has been shortlisted for the Driving Efficiency Through Technology Awards at the prestigious 2024 HSJ Awards! The most coveted accolade in UK healthcare, the HSJ Awards are the largest annual benchmarking and recognition programme for the health sector. The collaboration involves the use of our AI receptionist, Asa, that streamlines the appointment management process for patients and staff. Asa allows patients to book, reschedule and cancel appointments via WhatsApp at any time, without requiring a new app or website. Patients can interact with Asa like they would with a human receptionist. The project aims to increase the uptake of cervical cancer screening, improve clinic efficiency, and overall patient experience. Lucy McLaughlin, NHS NCL Head of Cancer Commissioning,“As a commissioner it is essential that we identify potential solutions that increase the numbers of patients that are able to book and attend their cervical screening appointment so that more patients take up the offer of a cervical screen. Patients are already giving us really positive feedback. We’re hearing that the booking process is easy, fast, and convenient and it’s great that patients are ‘so impressed’.” This collaboration showcases the transformative power of leveraging AI to drive efficiency in appointment scheduling, reshaping healthcare access and delivering superior outcomes for both patients and staff across the NHS. Exciting news! Our AI receptionist Asa has been featured in KPMG / Dr Janak Gunatilleke's research on ‘Non-clinical AI applications in healthcare – an opportunity.’ With a focus on productivity, now is the perfect time to leverage technological advances and explore compelling use cases for AI in non-clinical areas. Asa is a medical receptionist in your pocket. Asa offers patients the convenience of managing and paying (US) for their appointments via WhatsApp/iMessage at any time, interacting as they would with a human receptionist, in their native language. This empowers medical admins to dedicate more time to underserved patients, less technology aware patients and other critical tasks. It feels like the perfect time to explore opportunities to apply AI for non-clinical use cases in healthcare. There has always been a lot of attention on clinical AI as it’s more interesting. It’s also more complicated and scaling it successfully is hard due to several regulatory/compliance challenges and ethical considerations. With a national focus on productivity and recent technological advances including in GenAI, there are compelling use cases for the application of AI in non-clinical areas. It’s not all plain sailing though, there are critical success factors to ensure non-clinical AI solutions are deployed effectively and safely.
