About us

Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability Council (GATS) is an industry-led, non-profit organization, based in Panipat, India's textile recycling hub. GATS is committed to transforming the textile and fashion industry by promoting sustainability, circularity, and resource efficiency, particularly among MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises). Vision: Our goal is to create a thriving, zero-waste textile industry that reuses, recycles, and repurposes materials. We aim to drive the sector towards a circular supply chain while fostering job creation and enhancing India's global competitiveness. Key Focus Areas: Circular Economy Initiatives: Promoting the reuse and recycling of textile materials to reduce waste and environmental impact. Sustainability Programs: Helping MSMEs adopt eco-friendly production processes and optimize resources. Innovation Support: Facilitating access to cutting-edge technologies for sustainable manufacturing. Training & Capacity Building: Offering workshops and training to develop the skills necessary for sustainable entrepreneurship. Advocacy & Policy Engagement: Collaborating with policymakers to support regulations that foster sustainable and circular practices in textiles. Mission: GATS’s mission is to lead the shift toward a circular and sustainable textile industry, where economic growth goes hand in hand with environmental responsibility. We are dedicated to advancing innovative solutions, promoting the adoption of circular practices, and ensuring sustainable job creation. Impact: GATS fosters collaboration between manufacturers, fashion brands, government bodies, and educational institutions to create a zero-waste, circular supply chain. Our work positions India’s MSMEs as leaders in sustainable textile production while significantly reducing the industry’s environmental footprint.
