AbstractAbstract
[en] The gamma-ray shielding simulation computer program, using the fundamental concept of the Monte Carlo procedure, was developed. The calculation is accomplished by virtue of the cross section file from MCNP (Monte Carlo N-Particle Transport Code System). The comparison among the calculations of this program, the experiment and the deterministic method was made by applying 60 keV gamma source from 241 A M and aluminum as shieldings. The result showed good consistency among these methods

[en] Certain neutron excess heavy nuclei have a thick neutron skin on the nuclear surface. In this paper detailed collective densities excitations in heavy nuclei with a large neutron excess and a thick neutron skin will be considered within the framework of the 'hydrodynamic' model. It will be shown that low energy isoscalar excitations are possible. The knowledge obtained will give information on the neutron thickness, the compressibility and the surface tension of neutron excess at low density

[en] The study of rare earths separation by solvent extraction, which is a part of monazite breakdown process, has been done by shaking in separatory funnel to initiate the cross-current and the counter-current with reflux technique. Rare earths in the aqueous nitrate solution were extracted by 50% tributyl phosphate (TB P) in kerosene. The results show the preferable separation of the latter to the former technique

AbstractAbstract
[en] One of the products from Monazite ore processing is yellow cake which is Ammonium diuranate with thorium impurity. Continuous liquid-liquid extraction in laboratory scale was simulated to purify uranium by scrubbing thorium using various scrub solutions and flow ratios. The results indicated that the uranium extraction efficiency at flow ratio (solvent : feed) of 3:2 and 6 stage numbers is higher than 99.8 percents. The thorium scrub efficiency is higher than 80 percents when 52,950 ppm uranyl nitrate is used as scrub solution at flow ratio (feed : scrub solution) of 7:1 and 4 stage numbers
