[en] Effect of changes in pH environment on the adsorption of Sr²⁺ has been studied by radioisotope indications, using of radioisotope ⁸⁵Sr with energy γ-rays 0.514 MeV, in a static arrangement of the experiment, under aerobic conditions. The concentration range was 1 · 10^-5 - 5 · 10^-2 mol dm^-3. The samples of bentonite from Lieskovec deposit were tested which could be assigned into the Fe-montmorillonite group. (Author)

[en] On a model sample we optimized conditions of SPE separation of ⁹⁰Sr on Empore Sr Rad Disk in term of use eluent reagent and its appropriate concentration. Also the possibility of multiple use of both sorbents Empore Sr Rad Disk and AnaLig Sr-01 was confirmed. Not even after 8 separations radiochemical yield fall below 87%. For separation of ⁹⁰Sr from real sample of percolating water of controlled area of Bohunice NPP three commercially available products were used: 3M Empore Strontium Rad Disk, sorbents AnaLig (with different grain size) and Sr-Resin. The aim of this work was to compare the selected products in term of strontium extracts, the time demandingness and the possibility of multiple use of sorbents. For separation of strontium were also used two classical methods, namely liquid extraction with tributyl phosphate and carbonate precipitation due to the exclusion of interferents. (author)

[en] The aim of this project is to identify and characterize the role of proton-motive force (PMS) in the influx and efflux of Ca²⁺ in different types of microorganisms (bacteria, yeasts, filamentous fungi). Disadvantage of study of Ca²⁺ transport is that they should not cause inhibitors. The starting point of the project was our finding that in filamentous fungus Trichoderma viride the influx and efflux of Ca²⁺ are stimulated by disconnector. This finding rules out the possibility that Ca²⁺ transport in one or the other direction is driven by PMS. Homeostasis of Ca²⁺ ions were characterized by measuring the transport of radioactive isotope ⁴⁵Ca²⁺ into and from cells of microorganisms. (Authors)

[en] In this paper author deals with the use of luminous properties of landscape structures in agricultural practice.

[en] The paper is focused on the application of GIS tools in determining the intensity of erosion-sedimentation processes in the basin of water flow Sirocina (Nitra region). Average long-term soil loss was calculated using the generalized use of the universal soil loss equation - USLE. These values were reduced by sediment delivery ratio, since not all of eroded soil particles are transported up to the water recipients. Modelling was performed in ArcView 3.2 and ArcGIS 9.2 (ESRI products) with extensions Spatial Analyst and Hydrotools 1.0. On the basis of these calculations, we have set a benchmark of the total amount of transported sediments for 3 small ponds located in the basin Sirocina (MVN Great Vozokany, Nevidzany MVN and MVN Nemcinany). [en] Aim of the present experiment was to evaluate the sorption capacity of wood biomass modified by iron oxyhydroxide. Capacity was assessed in tank experiments. Model solutions of pentavalent arsenic in concentration range of 20 mg L^-1-500 mg L^-1 were used. Binder dosing 10 g L^-1 was selected, contact time of the binder with solution was 2 hours. [en] We examined two types of potential habitat for macrozoobenthos: 1 morphological units; 2 types of flow as a complex of hydraulic characteristics of habitat. Both types of habitats were analyzed by their physical attributes and macroinvertebrate communities. Froude (Fr) and Reynolds (Re) number turned out to be suitable as a descriptor of the average hydraulic habitat conditions. The structure of the communities involved abundance, food types, substrate, saprobic and current preferences. From directly measured variables the most significant effect had the flow velocity. [en] In determining of ²¹⁰Po it was followed according to the Czech technical standard CSN 75 7626 Water quality - Determination of polonium-210. The aim of this work was to optimize the conditions for sorption of ²¹⁰Po on ZnS (Ag) from acidic environment from the model solutions. The effect of pH of the sample, its volume and the presence of NaCl on the sorption of ²¹⁰Po on ZnS (Ag) was studied. Three types of filters for filtering ZnS (Ag), Synpor, paper and glass fiber filters were tested. Bulk activity of ²¹⁰Po was determined in the samples of Slovak mineral waters and healing waters as well as in water samples from antimony mine (mine Rufus) near the village Poproc (rural Kosice district).
