📣 In the framework of regional GREENSMARTMED activities, the Greek partners #CERTH and Regional Development Fund of Western Macedonia (#RDF) hosted today a #workinggroup #meeting at the RDF premises, addressed to local and regional representatives of public sector, members of material management organizations classified in the 5 manufacturing target areas of the project (machinery, textile, plastics, agri-food, mobility & batteries) as well as with clusters, related to these sectors. 📣 On last 14th and 15th of October the GREENSMARTMED Project partner CUEIM attended the ENFA - Euro Nordic Funding Alliance Summit 2024, held in Stockholm at the prestigious location of the Hotel Berns, to promote GREENSMARTMED and build new #alliances for its further implementation. The event proved to be a successful experience for the project in terms of: 💪 Contribution to the Interreg Euro-MED Programme Results Amplification Strategy. 🌍 Promotion and communication of its #solutions among a wider #network of stakeholders from Europe, Africa and Asia. 🤝 Development of further #synergies and collaborations in the frameworks of other EU funded programmes and initiatives. 🍂 Creation of #cooperation opportunities with other countries outside the Interreg Euro-MED cooperation area. 🔎 Increasing of #knowledge about other countries needs, challenges and successful strategies and initiatives towards #greeninnovation. 🌍 The current problematic geopolitical situation and uncertainty in health conditions make the concepts of #resilience, #energysaving, #circulareconomy #rawmaterials #scarcity and #dependency increasingly relevant and urgent. 👉 In this context, #manufacturing can significantly contribute to #greengrowthgrowth, fostering a #climateneutral, #circular and #cleanindustry by: 🌿 Facilitating the process to reduce #greenhousegasemissions, as manufacturing is responsible for consuming 30% of the total energy produced. 👍 Recognizing the crucial role of manufacturing #SMEs in economies, #regionaldevelopment and #competitiveness. 💪 Working to face the SMEs’ lack of organizational structure and financial capability to invest in #ResearchandInnovation and scarce participation in collaboration activities. 📣 This is what we are working on with the GREENSMARTMED project new integrated #methodology. As part of the Innovative Sustainable Economy Mission Interreg Euro-MED Programme, GREENSMARTMED project partners have joined the Innovative Sustainable Economy Community (#ISEC) Hub, the Mission Community of Quadruple Helix stakeholders and organizations launched in March 2024 to jointly contribute to drive a fair transition to a sustainable economy through transformative innovation in the Mediterranean region.
