Last week marked the launch of #Sewith, a Erasmus+ project that will run for an entire year. Meven from Association PiNG Nantes and Samuel from HUMANLAB APAJH44 visited us for three days to get to know our methodology — an opportunity for us to share #knowledge, #projects, #tools, and #challenges. Sewith is built on the exchange of expertise among OpenDot, PiNG and HumanLab APAJH44 and focuses on creating clothes that are stylish, functional and accessible for people with disabilities. At the heart of this process is co-design, which led to the creation of our method - a collaborative approach that brings together #multidisciplinary teams to develop tailored and truly effective #solutions. Our next meeting at Fab Lab Hyperlien in Nantes will focus on applying these methods in practice, using digital fabrication technologies to create innovative #fashion solutions. The journey has only just begun, with many developments ahead! Last week, in Valencia, we took part in the kick-off meeting for the #EU project #Cir4Fun, which aims to transform the #furniture industry by championing circular economy principles across the entire product life cycle. Among the 22 participants, Marta Savoldelli, Martina Giulianelli, and Alessandro Masserdotti represented our team in their role as Work Package leaders of WP6. They presented the objectives and plans for implementing Cir4Fun use cases, which are based on co-creation among diverse stakeholders, including furniture #manufacturers, #municipalities, and #waste managers. #Cir4Fun emphasizes stakeholder engagement to promote #sustainable behaviors and #circular practices, as well as to demonstrate innovations in the furniture value chain. Its findings will be widely shared across the #European furniture ecosystem to ensure broad impact and adoption. A thoughtful transformation brings warmth and inclusivity to the paediatric medical room at 'Tempo per l'Infanzia' in Milan's Gorla district. This community-focused project reimagines a 40-square-metre space into a welcoming environment where healthcare meets playful design. At its heart is a custom-designed interactive play bench, seamlessly integrating functionality with child-friendly elements. The thoughtfully configured space now features a bright waiting area, examination room, and support facilities, all designed to make medical visits less daunting for young patients and their families. Impressions from our Hack for Food, Hack for Good Kaunas edition are out!   Organized by Opendot, in cooperation with Kaunas University of Technology, Kūrybiškumo akceleratorius / VIVITA Lithuania, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, and DesignFriends, our Kaunas Hackathon edition was really special as it followed the theme: by the Kids, for the kids.   During this hackathon, the children aged 10 to 14 from Herojus School developed new concepts and solutions aimed at helping children and their families/caregivers to lead a better lifestyle and eat healthier.   Get a glimpse from our Kaunas edition here and stay tuned for more! #feast2030 #hackthon #impressions

Our Hack for Food, Hack for Good – London chapter just stepped further in the progress ladder!   Today Opendot mentors presented the prototypes of the winning ideas from the London Hackathon!   For the winning idea, Cooking Connections, the team has developed a toolkit designed to guide organizations, healthcare professionals, therapists, community centers, caregivers, and volunteers in organizing cooking classes for people with learning disabilities. The toolkit has clear instructions, ad hoc tools and boards, activity plans, impact assessment sheets, and example activities and health recipes.   Another winning idea, NutriNest is an intuitive, practical, and user-friendly physical toolkit that includes kitchen basics, including chopping boards and measuring tools, with clear visual cues. The toolkit also includes delicious and healthy recipes with visual assistance on the ingredients used in each recipe.   Check the recording below from today's session on our YouTube channel!
