  • WE REACH participated in a two-day training focused on the use of powerful digital tools—the Uwajibikaji Pamoja platform and the A4T App. These platforms offer a unified space for citizens to submit complaints, empowering communities to fight corruption and mismanagement of public resources. As part of our commitment , WE REACH will leverage football to raise awareness about these tools among the youth in Kakamega County. Together, we can put the power of change in the hands of citizens and continue the fight against corruption! #AntiCorruption #YouthEngagement #Kakamega #WEREACH #TIKenya

CALL FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT The kitchens in rural primary schools in Kakamega are characterized by the use of open fire which are low-grade fuels and inefficient stoves, resulting in significant indoor air pollution. The casual staffs(mostly women) who cook in these environments are exposed to smoke for prolonged periods, leading to respiratory diseases, eye irritations, and other health-related issues. They frequently visit local health centers suffering from respiratory diseases due to inhaling smoke. The poor air quality in school environment exacerbates these problems, contributing to a high disease burden among children in classrooms in school. In addition to health problems, many schools face a fuel-wood shortage due to high demand resulting in the massive felling of trees, which is driving deforestation and causing desertification to spread.  To address this issue, WE REACH is seeking financial support to help 3 rural primary to improve the health and wellbeing of the women who cook in these environments. By implementing clean cooking technologies, we can reduce the emission of harmful smoke, improve air quality, and consequently reduce health risks. We not only aim to protect the health of the cooking staff but also promote environmental conservation by encouraging the use of sustainable energy sources and plant trees which can be used as fuel wood in these schools.  The attached link has a video of the real situation at Khabondi Primary School. https://lnkd.in/dk_f6M3M Do you wish to financially support?
