Boosting Efficiency: Launching STATBUS in Morocco On Monday, experts from Statistics Norway and the Haut Commissariat au Plan (HCP) in Morocco met to prepare for the implementation of #STATBUS Software in Morocco. #STATBUS is an innovative software designed to streamline business information across statistical surveys. Instead of multiple departments in HCP maintaining separate business records, STATBUS consolidates and updates this information in one place, using data from key administrative sources like the Caisse Nationale de Sécurité Sociale and OMPIC. This approach not only boosts efficiency but also ensures consistency. For example, a shoe manufacturer will be classified the same way across all surveys, enabling better comparisons - for instance, linking value-added in National Accounts to employment in labor market statistics. This initiative is part of the Strategic Sector Cooperation between Statistics Denmark (Danmarks Statistik) and HCP, supported by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. #DKaid Hasnae Fdhil, Widad Saadouni, Klaus Balslev Pedersen Klaus Munch Haagensen, Zineb Abbad El Andaloussi Berit Basse Erik Søberg Statistics Denmark - International Consulting Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark Haut Commissariat au Plan

🟠 Every year, from 25 November to 10 December, the #16DaysofActivismAgainstGenderBasedViolence campaign serves as a powerful call to action towards ending violence against women and girls worldwide. Globally, an estimated 736 million women—nearly one in three—have experienced physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime. This devastating statistic highlights the global scale of the problem and emphasises the need for effective strategies to prevent and respond to gender-based violence. In Morocco, recent reports show that almost half of Moroccan women experience some form of gender-based violence in their lifetime. Meanwhile, Morocco has made strides with important laws addressing this issue, and many organisations are making significant progress in providing essential services to survivors of gender based violence and advocating for systemic change. In Denmark, gender-based violence also remains a concern, particularly during times of crisis. The country has recently indorsed the International Labour Organisation's Convention on Violence and Harassment, a global treaty that recognises the right of all individuals to work free from violence and harassment. Denmark's commitment to addressing gender-based violence in all spheres, including the workplace, sets an important global example for the protection of human rights. Gender-based violence is not just an issue for women, it affects entire communities, and it requires everyone to play a part in eliminating it. Whether by sharing facts, offering support, or advocating for policy change, we all have a role to play. Nations Unies MarocIUnited Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)IUN Women

Youth perspectives on global climate action 🌍 During COP29 Azerbaijan in Baku, the Danish and Nordic pavilions will arrange side events with youth panels to amplify the youth’s voice in combatting climate change. Denmark’s new Africa Strategy places a strong emphasis on climate efforts, aiming to deepen cooperation with African nations on sustainable development and green growth. As part of this strategy, Danish youth are encouraged to engage in global climate action, working alongside African counterparts to develop innovative solutions for climate adaptation and sustainable energy. By fostering educational exchanges and collaboration on green technologies, Denmark is creating opportunities for youth to actively address the climate challenges that affect all regions around the world💡 #COP29 Photo: Andreas Omvik / Norden.org

This week a delegation of experts from Direction Générale de l’Hydraulique and ONEE-Branche Eau met with counterparts from Danish EPA and VCS Denmark to share insights on effective communication and awareness in water and environmental issues, as part of the ongoing cooperation between the Moroccan Ministry of Water and Equipment and the Danish Ministry of Environment. Ministère de l'Equipement et de l'Eau Michael Rasmussen
This week Danish EPA and VCS Denmark are hosting a visit from Morocco by the Ministry of Water (DGH) and the National Water Supply Company (ONEE) for sharing knowledge and experience on approaches and methods to effective communication, messaging and awareness raising on water and environmental issues. Morocco is facing serious water scarcity, and there is an urgent need to enhance understanding, awareness and change behaviour among the public, farmers, industries, men, women and pupils on the need to save and share water and to take better care of the environment. Denmark is also facing challenges when it comes to pollution of the sea, the groundwater resources and the environment and for managing conflicting interests among water and environment polluters from agriculture, industry, households and citizens. Effective strategic communication, advocacy work and awareness raising are an absolute necessity for changing practices and behaviour for ensuring more sustainable use of water resources and better living and survival conditions for humans and ecosystems.
