Sonoro’s co-founders Joshua Weinstein and Camila Victoriano joined Claire A.'s latest episode of 'The Media Mix’ to discuss our work and how podcasts are becoming the new pilots for television series. Camila shared, “This is an exciting way to generate dozens of new ideas across genres, across formats that move beyond identity and really allow Latinos to tell their stories and hear the stories that they want to hear."     In four short years, Sonoro has built the 4th largest podcast network in the world, an achievement recognized by Podtrac, Inc. Yesterday at the IAB Podcast Upfront, we unveiled four groundbreaking partnerships. First, we’re proud to announce our partnership with Suma Wealth, the premier platform empowering young Latinos in the US to get personalized financial tools. Together we are launching an original series dedicated to financial literacy, with content available across audio, social media and video. This series will entertain and educate young Latinos ready to take control of their economic and purchasing power - which today is over $3.4 trillion. Next, we’re thrilled to share our partnership with Funny Or Die, the #1 digital comedy brand. Their upcoming slate of video and audio podcast series will engage their multicultural audience of over 40 million people across all platforms, and extend into our own existing global network. "Bless These Braces," first in the slate, was launched earlier this year and is hosted by writer-comedian Tam Yajia, who reflects on her Jewish-Latina upbringing and dives deep into the memories of those awkward teenage years with her comedian guests. Sci-fi fans also have a treat coming their way with the release of “Faraway” a scripted sci-fi series. It follows Camila Aguilar, a teen whose astronaut mother is presumed dead after a space mission goes awry. The next day, Camila receives a mysterious device called the Orion, which is programmed with her mother’s voice. This series was created by award-winning filmmaker Matthew Castellanos and co-written by Castellanos and Brett Melnick. Lastly, we are so glad to announce “Zone of Silence” produced by and starring Mario Lopez and Eric Winter. This series explores an area in Mexico that has witnessed alien sightings and inexplicable wildlife mutations… but our friends can better describe this voyage (see below). We’re elated to unveil these transformative partnerships with leading and emerging Latinx talent. For us, diversity is not about "checking the box" – it’s our key to success.
