  • 🤔 Are there differences in how men and women experience the workplace? Share YOUR experiences and opinions with us in this first ever study on gender gaps in corporate Malaysia. Despite the vast improvement of gender equality in the sector over the years, there iis still a lack of publicly available data on where we currently stand. Without robust data, it is difficult to accurately assess the scale of gender disparities, identify the root causes, and track improvements over time. Together with Asia School of Business, we aim to fill that space with Mind The Gap. By generating local insights accessible by everyone, we are able to collectively work towards a more inclusive environment in the corporate sector. Your input will help us gain a deeper understanding of the workplace experiences of both men and women. Click here to share your experience anonymously: https://lnkd.in/gpjNiJ_z 🎈 All respondents will receive discount codes on childcare services, free mental health screening and complimentary annual LeadWomen membership (only for women) at the end of the form. • Taking ownership of your leadership - Are you ready? Applications are now open for our signature programme! In recent decades, there have been calls for greater gender equality* and an emphasis on the need to bridge the salary gap between men and women. 💭⚖️⚥🟰 While meaningful progress has been made in this area, we can still see an absence of women in positions of power and notably on the highest management levels. According to the statistics on women empowerment in selected domains published by the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), under the Malaysia Gender Gap Index, - only 24.6% of legislators, senior officials and managers were women across Malaysia. To address this challenge and turn things around, organisations large or small must build inclusive policies and opportunities for women and on the other hand, women will need support in taking steps forward and overcoming the tendencies that hold them back. 🫱🏽🫲🏻💬 Since 2014, LeadWomen has been running Women in Leadership (WiL) to drive female participation in senior decision-making positions through a unique combination of workshops, knowledge sharing, peer-learning, coaching on modern topics and networking opportunities. What you need to know about the programme: 📌 Start: 24th April, 2025 📌 Duration: 6 Months (April-October) 📌 Mode: In-Person 📌 Pricing: RM 15,950 + 8% SST (HRD Corp Claimable) 📌 Application Due: 31st March, 2025 Register your interest to join our 2025 cohort of Women in Leadership (seats are limited and on a first comer basis!): https://lnkd.in/gneyvjvj Talk to Trishapreet Kaur at trisha@lead-women.com for your guidance. 🔎🌐 Browse lead-women.com to explore programmes and sevices designed for your career development, corporate training, advocacy campaigns and more. *Gender equality is the state of equal access to resources and opportunities regardless of gender, including economic participation and decision-making; and valuing diverse behaviours, aspirations and needs. Women in Leadership (WiL) is a Human Resources Development Fund - HRDF - KSA - Claimable Course and conducted by HRDF Trained Instructors.

  • 🌟 Empowering SMEs | Gaining a Competitive Edge with DEI 🌟 At the Empowering SMEs breakout panel, moderated by Nen Lin Soo from Forest Interactive, experts Liza Liew (LeadWomen), Heaster Andrea Hilary (Messenger Co.), Ee Rong Song (Bintang Capital Partners), and Izlyn Ramli (Maybank Foundation) discussed how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can leverage Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) to enhance competitiveness, despite limited resources. The panel explored how DEI is often perceived as a resource-heavy initiative that many SMEs find difficult to implement. However, the discussion emphasised that even with limited budgets and time, SMEs can still benefit from DEI by fostering an inclusive culture, driving innovation, and improving employee satisfaction. 🌟 Key takeaways: 🔑 DEI Strategies for SMEs: DEI strategies can be effectively implemented in SMEs, even with limited resources, by focusing on scalable initiatives that fit within the company’s capacity. 🔑 The Power of Doing the Right Thing: Building a business that prioritises DEI ultimately leads to better outcomes, as inclusivity fosters stronger team dynamics, innovation, and sustainable growth. 🔑 DEI as an Investment Indicator: Investors are increasingly looking at diversity, equity, and inclusion as key factors when evaluating companies for investment. A strong DEI framework indicates a company’s potential for long-term success. 🔑 Supporting SMEs with DEI: Large organisations and foundations, such as Maybank, play a crucial role in supporting SMEs in their DEI journey, providing not only financial resources but also tools and knowledge to drive growth through inclusive practices. The panel concluded by offering SMEs practical steps to start their DEI journey, ensuring they not only understand the “WHY” but also have actionable strategies for implementation. #DEI #SMEs #DiversityAndInclusion #InclusiveWorkplace

  • 🌟 Ageism & Multigenerational Workforces | Embracing Diversity & Inclusion 🌟 At the panel on Ageism & Multigenerational Workforces, moderated by Weina Ang, experts Muhammad Aiman Bin Azmi (Deloitte Malaysia), Kristal Leng (Deloitte Malaysia), Sarinah Abu Bakar (Telekom Malaysia), and Narita Naziree (Maybank) discussed how different generations—Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z—shape workplace culture. They explored how these generational differences impact work styles, communication, and collaboration. The discussion highlighted that Gen Z values flexibility and work-life balance, while Baby Boomers and Gen X prefer stability and traditional office hours. Communication styles also differ, with younger generations favouring casual, direct communication, while older generations adhere to more formal, hierarchical structures. 🌟 Key takeaways: 🔑 Generational Work Preferences: Gen Z seeks flexibility, while older generations prioritise stability and structure. These differences can sometimes create tension between younger and older workers. 🔑 Communication Styles: Younger generations favour informal, direct communication, while older generations prefer more formal, structured communication, often influenced by respect for seniority. 🔑 Fostering Inclusion: Embracing these differences is key to building a more inclusive and collaborative workplace. Respecting diverse work styles helps reduce ageism and encourages innovation across teams. By understanding and respecting generational differences, we can create a workplace where everyone, regardless of age, can thrive and contribute to positive change. 🌍 #DiversityAndInclusion #MultigenerationalWorkforce #InclusiveWorkplace #Ageism #WorkplaceCulture
