Climate change is projected to have significant effects on agricultural productivity by 2050, with yields decreasing by 10-25% in many regions, especially in developing countries. Increased temperatures, altered precipitation patterns, and the prevalence of pests and diseases threaten food security, necessitating adaptive strategies such as crop diversification and improved water management. #didyouknow #cafs #africa #zerohunger #foodsecurity #cafsafrica #communityaction Azeez A. In collaboration with HEDA Resource Centre, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (@nimetnigeria), and the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (@nihsa_ng), Community Action for Food Security (CAFS) continues to play an active role in the regional Train-the-Trainer Workshop on Climate Prediction and Flood Forecasting. Following successful training sessions across the South West, North Central, South-South, and South-East regions, the workshop has moved to Kano State (North West region) and Adamawa State (North East region) to further expand its impact. This critical workshop is part of the African Activists for Climate Justice (@aacjinaction) project, supported by @oxfaminnigeria. Its goal is to empower state officials from both ministries of agriculture and environment, and NGOs with essential skills and knowledge on: ☘️ Utilizing climate prediction and flood forecasting tools effectively ☘️ Implementing best practices for climate adaptation and disaster preparedness ☘️ Formulating strategic, actionable plans to enhance climate resilience By equipping participants with these capabilities, the project ensures that critical climate and flood information is disseminated to local communities, particularly small-scale farmers. These efforts aim to increase resilience and drive sustainable agricultural practices in the face of growing climate challenges. Together, CAFS and its partners are driving transformative change at the grassroots level, building capacity for a climate-resilient future. #ClimateAction #FloodForecasting #ClimatePrediction #Sustainability #HEDA #NiMet #NIHSA #RegionalTraining #AACJProject #Oxfam #FoodSecurity #Farmers Azeez A. Organic farming systems tend to support higher biodiversity compared to conventional methods. Studies indicate that organic farms can sustain up to 50% more wildlife and beneficial insects. Additionally, organic practices improve soil health and reduce chemical runoff, contributing to environmental sustainability and improved public health. #didyouknow #cafs #africa #zerohunger #foodsecurity #cafsafrica #communityaction Azeez A.
