🔥XVR On Scene 10 - coming this winter!🔥 Meet Fire Front - our new wildfire simulator and one of the most exciting new features we developed for XVR On Scene 10. Fire Front is intuitive to use and visually accurate. Click, drag, drop – easily define the fire’s perimeter and intensity as it develops over time, visualise suppression efforts and firebreaks, and simulate the effects of wind and weather. The flexible features will allow both new and experienced scenario builders to generate complex wildfire visuals in a short amount of time. Use alongside our system's existing automations, injects and interactions to create realistic and immersive wildfire response scenarios. Empowering regional collaboration between Fire Services in the UK 🚒🙌 Last week we had the pleasure of facilitating a 2-day refresher course for XVR scenario builders from Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, and Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service. The goal was to upskill staff who recently joined their Service's IC training teams and build their XVR On Scene confidence, thereby improving the Service's core expertise and building resilience within the IC training department. However, the Services attending had another important purpose with this training: To re-establish a regional user group to share their experience and exchange XVR scenarios, knowledge and skills. There were also plans made to visit one another's Services to be inspired by one another's approaches and training set-ups. This week I’ve been in Glasgow as part of a team representing D&C at the Interpol General Assembly. During the week we spoke to various delegates from multiple countries attending. We also spoke to the Prime Minister and Home Secretary about our command training and showed them a scenario in XVR Simulation. The drone and digital dog teams got photos with PM and Home Sec, sadly I did not…cleary not photogenic enough 🤷🏻♂️ Really interesting few days and we’ve hopefully made some more contacts for the future 🙂

This week, we visited Polizei Bremen for a 2-day training course on using XVR On Scene for police training. 🕹️🚓 Our participants are now ready to train their colleagues using immersive VR scenarios in their dedicated training room, which fits up to 4 trainees at a time. 🚀 A busy but incredibly rewarding few weeks spent on-site and around the country, wrapping up projects, learning new skills and ensuring a smooth handover before heading on holiday. Here’s a quick recap: 🌟 Met with our skilled instructors to review developments in XVR and courses. 👀 Observed the second Incident Command course to use XVR, seeing the course in action and hearing feedback like “this is a game changer” and “can we have all the scenarios in XVR” from trainees was hugely motivating! 🌊 Completed a four day DEFRA compliant MOD 4 Water and Flood Rescue Boat Operator course on the Menai Strait in North Wales with Amanzi Safety and Rescue Ltd - A brilliantly delivered, challenging and extremely rewarding course (which I'm proud to say I have passed 🚤👌🏽). 🔥 Observed the pilot run of a new course I’ve been working on for over 10 months and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Here’s one highlight: “…one of the best non-professional Fire Safety courses produced by the MOD. It is evident from the start that, from a course design perspective, this course is far superior to the old ....” 🚁 Finally, I wrapped this past week up by completing the next round of ARFF scenarios within XVR, along with their scripts. A few weeks of great feedback like this reaffirms that all the hard work is making an impact. 🚒 XVR Simulation Used In Bulk Fuel Training in New Zealand 🚒 We were impressed with how XVR On Scene was used in an impactful exercise at the Fire and Emergency NZ National Training Centre earlier this year. XVR's VR training software brought realism to a bulk fuel incident simulation, guiding 29 industry professionals in handling a high-stakes fire scenario. Participants, including emergency responders and bulk fuel representatives, coordinated responses using XVR's immersive tools, enhancing real-life preparedness. Fire & Emergency NZ recognized the exercise as invaluable for building response confidence and strengthening partnerships.
