Yesterday, we had the privilege of attending Innovation Norway's annual Tourism Conference, Reise:liv 2024 🌏✨ It was an inspiring day filled with valuable insights of the future of Norwegian tourism. The theme of 'Stronger Together' resonated with all of us in the industry, and it highlighted the importance of collaboration in shaping the industry's growth.   A big thank you to Innovation Norway for organizing such an impactful event. 🌍✨ Once again, Oslo is ranked among the top destinations in the Global Destination Sustainability Index, securing a strong 8th place in 2024! 🎉 We are especially proud to share the top spot in the "Suppliers" category – a huge thank you to all our partners in the tourism industry who are doing an amazing job on sustainability 🌱👏 This year’s ranking reflects the challenges posed by a more demanding methodology. The GDS-Index introduced 12 new criteria, refined 28, and removed 5 to keep pace with global sustainability demands. This achievement is a result of hard work and collaboration, and we are particularly pleased with this year’s results, given the changes in the criteria. With over 100 participating destinations, it’s an honor to see Oslo maintaining such a high standard in sustainability. This week, VisitOSLO was invited to a small exclusive gathering in the beautiful Sonja Henie Hall by Tarje Hellebust and Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, Oslo, to share a bit about the work OSLO Convention Bureau is doing to promote and sell Oslo as an international city for conferences and events 🎤🎫 We also got an insight into trends, facts, and perspectives from Per-Arne Tuftin of Norsk Reiseliv - Norwegian Tourism Partners, and a glimpse from Google and Jonathan Seim on what AI can offer today and where it's heading 🎇 The event concluded at The Top Bar and rooftop terrace, enjoying a beautiful sunset together with the industry's best PCOs, event companies, and other travel businesses.
