In December Changing Minds made our Community Submission on the Mental Health Bill 2024. The Lived Experience community has waited more than 30 years for transformative and person-centred mental health law in Aotearoa. What we heard from our community was that this Bill has missed an opportunity for positive transformation and to create meaningful change for Tāngata Mātau ā-wheako. We've requested the opportunity to speak to the Select Committee on our community submission, and will keep you updated when we know more. Meanwhile you can read our submission here: https://lnkd.in/gBr-df-5 #mentalhealthnz #changingmindsnz #mentalhealth #wellbeing

It's a busy time of year, but if you can, please take a moment to stand up for our rangatahi by making a submission on the Oranga Tamariki (Responding to Serious Youth Offending) Bill. Youth advocates from around the country have been calling on the government to scrap this Bill, saying it takes away choice, support, and community for vulnerable young people, putting them at risk of abuse and harm. Your submission can be as long or as short as you like - every voice counts! You can read more about the Bill here: https://lnkd.in/g2QjVPmK And make a submission here: https://lnkd.in/gCe5Bn3T #mentalhealthnz #changingmindsnz #mentalhealth #wellbeing
