Yesterday, I had the great pleasure of giving the opening keynote of SKF Group's AI in Action internal days in front of a live audience of 500 employees across the globe. I talked about how we think about AI today from a non-technical perspective, shared our view of where its value lies for industrial companies, and outlined how to scale the usage of valuable use cases. Last week I had the great pleasure of giving a keynote at Atlas Copco Group Compressor Technique's WeConnect event, and bringing learnings from our work within the Combient network. I discussed AI broadly and Generative AI more specifically, and why companies find it so challenging to scale use cases and create value. Spoiler: technology is not the hardest part. October is Cyber Security Awareness month. An initiative launched by organizations and governments around the world that encourages public and private sector actors to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity. Within the Combient network, cybersecurity is a topic that is a omnipresent. At our most recent Combient Conference, Austin Murdock, PhD from SixMap, Inc. shared his insights on how companies inside the Combient network and in general, can shore up their security by using tools available to them. Scope 3 regulation was the talk of the day yesterday, as Combient Pure's Scope 3 Decarbonization Accelerator kicked off its first module at Stora Enso's new Helsinki headquarters. We were happy to have nearly 30 Combient companies join the day either on-site or online. Highlights from the day included: 🌡️ To comply with new regulation, a 1.5 degree-aligned, credible climate transition plan (including Scope 3!) is a must 📝 Scope 3 data is a key challenge - tackling it starts with getting data requirements into supplier contracts 🔍 Product-specific calculations can help create clarity and focus in the black box of Scope 3 calculations 👋 Scope 3 work spans internal functions and companies across industries - the best way to get started is reach across siloes and start conversations Many thanks to our stellar speakers Lia Heasman, Hanna Pihkola, Catharina Hohenthal and Tuuli Kaskinen for their to-the-point presentations and insights, and a big thank you to our engaged participants from the Combient network!
