  • We are taking important steps towards more sustainable construction🌍 Heidelberg Materials is now introducing #evoBuild in Northern Europe – our new global product brand designed to help reduce carbon emissions and increase circularity in the construction industry.♻️ From the start of next year, evoBuild will be available across all our product segments, making it easier for our customers to choose sustainable solutions. Every product in the evoBuild range meets strict criteria in one of two categories: ✅“Low carbon” products are developed with methods that lower climate impact. ✅“Circular” products contain at least 30% recycled material, reducing waste and conserving natural resources by limiting the need for virgin materials. This launch is a key part of our journey toward building a more sustainable future. Together with our customers, we’re excited to shape a construction industry with a lighter environmental footprint. 🦶

  • 🎉 On Sunday, December 1st, our pioneering CCS-project in Brevik reached a pivotal milestone: mechanical completion. 👷♂️👷♀️On Monday, we celebrated this achievement with our dedicated crew in Brevik. Over 1.2 million working hours have been invested in this project so far.⏱️ We are incredibly thankful to all our employees for their hard work and commitment. Now, we are ready to enter the final commissioning stage, where we will thoroughly test the facility. 🔧✅ Next year we will start to deliver evoZero – cement for net-zero concrete!🌍

  • ⚡The partnership between Heidelberg Materials Northern Europe and Volvo Construction Equipment is advancing. By combining electrified solutions, advanced #digital tools, and close collaboration, we’re taking significant steps toward a #zero-emission future in construction. Since 2023 the two companies have been working together to explore and subsequently introduce electric solutions for loading and transport activities within Heidelberg Materials' operations in #Sweden and #Norway “The collaboration has provided us with important knowledge and input for the design of our zero-emission roadmap, identifying measures to be implemented over time and how to scale these up across our businesses and product lines. Strong partnerships like this one are key to driving widespread transformation” says Giv K. Brantenberg, General Manager Heidelberg Materials Northern Europe. Together, we’re not just reducing emissions but setting a roadmap for sustainable innovation across industries. 💡 Learn more about how this collaboration aligns cutting-edge technology with ambitious climate goals while maintaining productivity: https://lnkd.in/d7sMwS2E

  • Europe's most modern sleeper’s plant officially open! ✨ Yesterday we had the pleasure of inaugurating our new state-of-the-art sleepers plant in Sweden. An investment of around 4 million euro that enables us to produce concrete #railway sleepers with the highest precision and quality. 🥇 "In just 2.5 years, we have gone from plan to reality. Now we look forward to continuing to deliver Europe's best sleepers to a growing market using the latest technology," said Managing Director for the operations Filip Sten, who cut the ribbon together with Plant Manager Lisa Conradsson Hult.✂ The new plant has an impressive capacity of 1,200 sleepers per day, and with our steady focus on #sustainability, we have managed to reduce the climate impact in the production by 20% over the past five years. With our new #evoZero cement, we will be able to reduce the carbon footprint of each sleeper by a further 60%. Read more: https://lnkd.in/d4VfY86p

  • We’re excited to announce the latest advancement in green transport at our Skövde cement plant – the Volvo L120H Electric Conversion. This zero-emission vehicle is now part of our fleet, making Skövde the second Heidelberg Materials site in Sweden to adopt this technology! 🚜🌱 Currently, we’re testing its capabilities across a variety of operations, including loading limestone, supplying alternative fuels to the kiln, and road maintenance. With our cement plant running 24/7, developing an efficient charging schedule is also a top priority. ⚡️🔋 Check out the new machine in action at the Skövde quarry, and stay tuned for more updates! • 📍 Today marks a milestone for the establishment of a #CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) #valuechain in Norway, with the opening of the CO₂ storage facilities at Northern Lights JV in Øygarden! This facility will support the Norwegian government’s Longship* project, providing infrastructure to transport and store CO₂ from capture sites to a secure reservoir 2,600 meters under the seabed.🌊 Heidelberg Materials Northern Europe is proud to lead our industry’s climate transition with the world’s first CCS solution for cement production currently being built at the Brevik plant in Norway - and we are the first industrial customer to deliver CO₂ by ship to Northern Lights. 🤝 A key success factor of Longship is the dissemination of knowledge and cross-border collaboration. Our General Manager Giv K. Brantenberg spoke at today's Northern Lights Summit, sharing insights on driving commercial investments in carbon capture solutions for hard-to-abate industries. *Longship/Langskip is Norway’s initiative to develop a full-scale CCS value chain, showcasing its potential as a global decarbonization strategy.

  • ♻️ We are proud to announce that Heidelberg Materials has made a significant step towards #circular #material use in #Estonia! With the recent acquisition of the necessary Registration Certificate in #waste #management from the Estonian Environmental Board, we can now receive and process up to 30 million tons of construction and demolition waste, as well as excavated materials. ♻️ Our Process: 🔄 Receive & Process: Construction and demolition waste, along with excavated materials, are sorted, crushed, and screened. 🔄 Reuse: These materials are then redirected for reuse, including in the production of concrete at our plants in Estonia. “Considering the limited availability of natural resources, and with the skills and vision we have at Heidelberg Materials to recycle materials, we can now prevent good materials from ending up in landfills,” explains Riho Iskül Development Director at Heidelberg Materials Kunda AS.
